Chinese plugs are either almost identical to Australian plugs (earthed) or similar to US/Japanese plugs (unearthed).

This is best plug (image). Cable goes away from the socket, it is grounded, it stays in and it is easy to take out and you can't short circuit it. Third world American ones are shittiest one.

UK plugs because they have the built-in fuse

Bongs must have a extra fuse for made in Britain electronics.

kek worse design, but they're yuros so it's expected

Better, if you have something important, you fuse it, but it's hard to change if you need to. Not with bong plugs, also protects from electrical fires that wouldn't trip the beaker, they're also earthed and I can't stand getting electrocuted whenever I touch my laptop/stove and it makes my headset unusable because of the buzzing with no one being able to hear me on VoIP

The UK plugs have some nice features but dear god they're gigantic. I can't imagine having every plug filled on something like a power strip or a UPS.

      >I can't imagine having every plug filled on something like a power strip
I have multiple extension leads that are fully plugged in. I don't think they take up that much space but I've not seen what an American one looks like.

I have this UPS and almost every single plug is filled, it's messy even with small US plugs. According to my tape measure it's about 11.5 inches tall, or 29 centimeters.

Don't US plugs have the cable running out in the same direction as the socket? Most UK plugs have cables that down from the plug.

            Anonymous

Yeah it's almost like everything in the UK has it's own transformer.

That's the best part, it's almost completely arbitrary. I have plugs in like your pic, wall-warts, straight out, and even some angled ones (pic). Although most do just point straight out. This pic is from Technology Connections' video on plugs.

That looks absolutely moronic. AC adapters here might run their cables up instead of down or away from the socket (phone chargers usually do this) but the principle here is to save as much space due to how oversized the plugs are already.

Without ground American plugs (like what you might see on a lamp) are just two strips of metal with a fairly thin resin coating. There's almost nothing there. As an American I have a hard time imagining using UK plugs for lamps. That just seems crazy.

    Living in Denmark is hell.
    >Everything sold internationally comes with standard Euro plug
    >Have to use converter for everything in order to get ground
    >Many buildings don't even have ground at all

The US one is actually what they sell in the Philippines. Filipinos do not ground their home wiring.

Brutal, one time I got one of those 2 pins to 3 pin adapters for my computer and I almost fricking died, do Filipinos just not use guitar amplifiers or computers?

    UK plugs are oversized memes.

The ideal plug is a US grounded plug with sleeved power pins.

i have a surge protector which has a short indicator
do i understand correctly that if there was a device that was shorted internally, the short indicator on the surge protector would inform me of this?

UK by far, US plugs are shit, I can't believe you can actually bend the pins on them. If you tread on a UK plug it just hurts your foot.

why doesn't the US one include a ground prong? Most cables now are 3 pronged except stuff like phone chargers (admittedly they probably should be)

      Anonymous

      >admittedly they probably should be
What would they ground? USB doesn't have a ground line, just DC-. The charger case is plastic. If you put a ground prong on it there's be nothing to connect it to.
