I have both IPS (Dell) and TN (BenQ). Neither one is the best, wach one has it's own pros and cons.

Any modern IPS beats few year old TNs easily. Most recent ones may still have a slight advantage at very high frequencies, but they're still LCDs, they look like garbage in motion either way thanks to sample&hold motion blur.

IPS glow is a viewing angle issue, which is limited only to blacks. On the other hand, ALL colors on a TN glow and shift.

TN angles are so terrible that even if you do view it straight on, you still see major distortion. On IPS monitors those distortions are only limited to blacks.

Serious question: Why did plasma die? It was superior to LCD and OLED in literally every possible way.
It probably affected the electric company's billing, so they had to get rid of it.
They died because plasmas can’t be made in small form factors.
They were heavy as frick and not energy efficient.
