Ok but summer > spring, how come there aren't as many summer festivals? I mean israelites have Passover, Christians got Easter, Zoroastrians have Nawruz, Assyrians have Akitu, Indians have Holi. Don't hear much about summer.

The difference between cold intemperate weather and tepid tolerable weather is more drastic and welcomed than the difference between tepid and warm weather.

spring is about the end of winter, literally sun worship. Fall festivals can be seen as a celebration of summer for the bounty it gave

Pedophiles need the death sentence. Your crime is literally worse than murder. It is the worst possible crime you could commit. Nothing is worse than pedophilia.

Are you American? If so, you pay taxes to pedos.

Winter is shit. Nothing grows, pre modern period there was risk of famine. It’s always dark and cold and windy. It’s miserable and it literally feels like the earth is dying.

Spring is the triumph of the sun and warmth over the misery and barrenness of winter. The flowers and trees grow again. The grass becomes green again. The days are longer and warmer. It’s an all round better existence and people are just thankful it’s here.

spring festivals got nothing to do with PIE gypsies, it's a farmer's holiday. they are all localized across all countries, none are alike and some even have conflicting idols.

Well, other than when they're descended from the PIE spring festival of course.

For one thing, everybody likes festivals. That's universal. Humans will take basically any excuse we can get to celebrate - to spend time with each other, enjoy some good food, that sort of thing.

But also, winter is a generally unpleasant time and spring heralds the return of growth and warmth.

Spring is when animals begin mating and intense socializing again, after a period in which animals are dormant

So Christians and Muslims fast, and then they usually feast and celebrate

This creates an association in the mind between the vitality of nature and the vitality which the religion seeks to cultivate

And it ensures that the humans in the religion are using their newfound social energy in a certain way
