This, except convenience is the reason that I do all this stuff in MacOS. It *just works* and it's fast and the workflow is very, very good. I can't imagine having to do AV editing in Windows or Linux anymore. I use those for games and coding/gens, respectively.

The difference between 20 watt and 100 watt is 80 watts. 80 watts during 3 months of summer. vs 80 watts during 9 months of not summer to heat up the room. If its 8 hours usage every day for those 3 months, thats 540 hours in a year of "excess" 80watts of heat generated. With prices of 20 cents per kwh, thats $20 per month or $60 per summer.
Or 33 years to offset the $2000 extra premium. Its absolutely a non-starter.

I use my system as a server, as a gaming machine, as a VM box, as a casual browsing, as I see fit.
The system allows me to use 256GB quad channel setup and multitask these many things at the same time.
