Why does no one block ads?

>work with IT boomers all the time
>not one blocks ads on their browser
>see zoomers using their phones constantly
>everyone sees ads on Youtube, browser, spotify, etc
>some people even have ads right on their home screen

Is everyone except me literally fricking moronic? How hard is it to install a browser adblock and Newpipe from F-Droid?

    >try to teach people how to block ads that can take up entire hours in a week total
    >but that’s illegal anon
    >but that’s how they make money anon
Muttland society is unironically nothing but sheeple. I guess people like me have no trouble surviving as long as we are the minority. Most people are dumb sheep after all. A sheep has no desire to be a tiger.

      Because adblocking is piracy.

It's not illegal, however it should be. Support your favourite webpages.

I guess I just expected to deal with smart people once I got an education myself and got into IT.

      >normalBlack folk now know about adblocking
      >marketing companies create something even more cancerous to circumvent ad blockers
jfc why would you want this?

I agree with both of you. If blocking ads becomes mainstream enough, producers will have to take stronger measures to prevent revenue loss. And only the smart people deserve this type of ability. I am mostly just amazed at how dumb the average sheep is. I was blocking ads on Chrome when i was in seventh grade. I think i figured it out when i was bored in English class once. It is actually so easy that a child could do it.

This is sorta what happened with pop up ads (the ones that opened up in a separate window, not the modern AIDS that fades into view on every single news article and blog post out there today). First Mozilla or Opera users bragged about having a pop up blocker in their browsers, then Google made a toolbar addon that came with pop up blocking functionality, later MS pushed out a service pack so even IE6 users could block pop ups. Having a blocker in your browser was just as ubiquitous as javascript support.
And what happened? All those ad companies moved away from that model of grabbing your attention to sell a product because every normie on the Internet back then could no longer see them.

This does literally nothing. It's not poisonous, the warning is to prevent morons from choking on it.

The best percentage is probably when it's at 15% or something. Because if no one blocks ads, they can cripple the adblocking in Manifest v3 and: No one cares!

I'm assuming they like ads, since they aren't using adblockers.

    >the ad blocker is a browser add on
That's on the high end of reasonable expectations from a normalgay.
    >ad blocker needs another browser to function, like on mobile
    That's already too much.

They use web browsers but have no idea browser extensions exist, and if you explain it to them they look at you like you've grown 3 heads. Normalhomosexuals are actual NPC, it's no wonder this stupid fricking planet is in the state it's in.
I mean, the fact ads are effective at all is pretty telling.

The worst are people that know about adblockers, but refuse to install them. I know someone like that who says that he needs to watch ads, because otherwise youtube wouldn't be able to pay for bandwith (wut)
