About a year I think.
As new but then I only do the occasional search query and stuff like that.
I actually have another one at my office and I only use it to enter the disk decryption password on a PC across the room from where I sit.
For all actual work I use a remote desktop, but I have to enter the password before I can access it.
I even bought a cheap 10 inch screen just so I can see the password prompt.
I see. I actually also have a zsa moonlander, its pretty epic since you can access numpad on second layer without moving your hand. Essentially the best of both worlds
I am just trying to find a way to get it more vertical then it will be ideal. The 45-60degree tenting angle feels bad. When I put it vertical it feels like a dream come true
>Keyboard with numpads were designed before mouses were invented.
I'm not sure when the first keyboard with a numpad was made but I don't think that's true. If you look at the setup Doug Englebart used during The Mother of All Demos (first public demonstration of a computer mouse), you'll notice his keyboard didn't have a numpad.
Guy, you strike me as intelligent.
How doable is 3d printing this guys keyboard tenting solution?

When I was a gaymer I had all my cs:go buys mapped to the numpad.

I haven't 3d printed anything in years but it seems fine to me, only problems are you need a tube and IDK if the vertical keyboards are ergonomic, you might want more of a slant

Vertical is perfect and achieves 100 percent neutral wrist pronation/supination

I just placed a 3d printing order for the design. It was a hundred bux. Soon I will have the final solution to my keyboard quest
The vast majority of people are A. not competent with a computer at all, and B. do not do anything that a numpad is helpful for.
Just get a separate numpad. They're expensive for good ones but the convenience of moving it around to the left or right is really nice for CAD work, roguelikes, etc.
The numpad, for Blender for instance, can be used for navigation. Numpad 0 toggles cam view, period key on the numpad will focus on the selected object.
Thanks I get it. This is why I appreciate the numpad, mouse, scroll, volume etc on the different layers I programmed on my moonlander. Now i cant wait for my 3d printed vertical tenting kit to arrive. Shit will be so cash brah

Mx mechanical mini is literally the perfect keyboard
I haven't charged mine in 18 months, when you turn off lighting and use logi bolt is uses almost 0 battery.
Numpad means you have to use an awkward posture and hold the mouse further away to your side unless you are left handed.
I don't see the point of numpad unless you use spreadsheets a lot with manual number entry, or bind a lot of macros or custom functions. I've been touch typing for a long time and can type numbers quickly using top row.
I just ordered the mini. I know the massive numpad wasteland would piss me off even tho at times it may be desireable to have, like when doing my quarterly tax stuff

Nice. Yeah it can be useful in niche cases but imo not even close to being worth it. also you have to learn how to type fast on the numpad specifically to use it well, I would be much faster just using the top row.
also forgot to mention, has 0 latency with logi bolt, behaves just like wired keyboard and stays connected without the bluetooth lag when leaving it idle
>Mx mechanical mini is literally the perfect keyboard
It really is. I am a very paranoid guy who uses emf measurements on all my equipment and this keyboard has lower emf emissions that wired keyboards. Its truly a miracle
Because there is a market for it.
I also prefer 24" or 24.5" monitors. Since there are no OLED ones at that size, I will not be buying a new monitor any time soon.
I have an iPhone 12 Mini because the size was perfect.
>Fricking trannies and their small gay keyboard. A real alpha like me will keep his mousehand at an uncomfortable angle to accomodate these digits of manliness that I use once in a wee-ACK
I want a comfortable typing position, so I placemy keyboard in such a way, that the B key is in the exact middle of the desk. That way, my arms have the same angle when typing.
With a full size keyboard, this means my mouse is way too far on the right, making it uncomfortable to use. A smaller keyboard rectifies this somewhat.
The ideal solution would be to have the numpad on the left of the keyboard, which is currently wasted space, but very few such keyboards are made.
Getting rid of the function keys is troony behaviour, though.
Keyboard with numpad are for people with wide frame and long arms
I don't understand why someone big would use a small keyboard though, it wouldn't look aesthetic imo.
just buy a TKL and a separate numpad and put that on the left. it works out cheaper (and separate numpads are nice anyway. some of them can be calculators too.(
if they moved the numpad to the left, how long would it take for you to relearn it, it's so ingrained I'm not sure if I can transition. I'll probably end up moving my right hand to the right every time before I realize that the numpad has moved.
>smaller distance to mouse >separate numpads exist if you genuinely do that much data entry
after getting used to a 60%, going back to a keyboard with a numpad feels exhausting. There is no reason to add four inches to the most common hand movement in PC use.
Mini lets me position my mouse closer to my hand. After using an Apple Magic Keyboard for a while I now find it more comfortable than a full size ever was.
humiliation ritual
Would you recommend I take the full size? I used to dislike full size because of the assymetry and distance to mouse
But I realized now I can just switch the mouse to my left hand! Mind blown
Like a new world is opening up now to me and I might now get my first full size keyboard
You sound severely autistic.
Thanks you too
just get a southpaw full size
troonys
Numpad is only useful if you work a lot with spread sheets.
Or play roguelikes.
That's how I learned I missed something on my TKL.
On the flipside, however, I'm now more proficient and VIM binds.
I have the small one.
I use it with my TV.
For how long have you had it and how are the key caps holding up?
About a year I think.
As new but then I only do the occasional search query and stuff like that.

On a day to day basis, how often do you really use a numpad? It's just a waste of space
What are you going to do with the space?
My desk is 240cm wide anyway
Not him but the point is to put the mouse in a more natural position.
Keyboard with numpads were designed before mouses were invented.

Store notebooks and shit, I usually read and take notes while programming. Probably just need a bigger desk though

I will use the space for more mouse movement while I place my wireless numpad wherever I want.
All day every day.
At this point using top row numbers is "maybe this is the right one? I'd better look" territory.
Bro I wish this mechanical keyboard had F keys.
It doesnt?
>Why does the small one exist
Gaymers
When I was a gaymer I had all my cs:go buys mapped to the numpad.
granny titz
it's Mini in the same sense as Mac Mini, aka it's made for gays
There was this genius level guy somewhere online who designed and 3D printed componentd to vertically secure the Zsa Moonlander
I really wish I can do the same for mine. Look at this genius
damn is this the sort of thing one does when they have completely given up on getting pussy?
Are you so starved for sex that this is all you think about
every day we have horse homosexuals telling us that this is okay; its fricking exhausting
What's the use case of the small one?
so it fits into my bag
anyone got that kb?
what switches do you recommend?
I tried the mini with browns. It was great. Now I am doubting to buy it or the full size
The vast majority of people are A. not competent with a computer at all, and B. do not do anything that a numpad is helpful for.

why get this when something like the keychron k2 exists
numpad is bloat
idk but I use software like Blender so the smaller one would be moronic
Explain
The numpad, for Blender for instance, can be used for navigation. Numpad 0 toggles cam view, period key on the numpad will focus on the selected object.

Blender? But I thought AI was the new hotness.
I covet that mouse.
if your kids use computer 60% keyboard makes sense
if you want carry keyboard everywhere or on very cramped desk, small one is better, otherwise is meme
This is half the price of the logitech one. Which one is better?
for me, it's the 96% keyboard
sa profile is gay and your mouse looks like a toddler's toy
>sa profile gay
post board
more centering, more space for mouse, better typing posture, no neck pain.
no need for the junk keypad when I never use it 99% of the time.
Mx mechanical mini is literally the perfect keyboard

Numpad means you have to use an awkward posture and hold the mouse further away to your side unless you are left handed.
How are the key caps looking by now? Shiny and worn out or still nice?
I am torn between the mini and the fullsize because I could switch my mouse to left hand and have best of both world
But really I am not 100% sure that I need a numpad. Cant I train to get fast on top row numbers?
I don't see the point of numpad unless you use spreadsheets a lot with manual number entry, or bind a lot of macros or custom functions. I've been touch typing for a long time and can type numbers quickly using top row.

Just cannot deal with 50% lopsided tumor look
they keys still look fine to me, haven't noticed them wearing out.
only downside is the logitech bloatware but I disabled mine from running
also forgot to mention, has 0 latency with logi bolt, behaves just like wired keyboard and stays connected without the bluetooth lag when leaving it idle

Who the frick thought numpad is better on the right side
>Who the frick thought numpad is better on the right side
Right? Absurd
Anyway it should just be on a second layer instead of attaching a huge dead surface on the right
Literally the only use case I had for the numpad in 30 years of using a computer was flying the helicopter in GTA and that was 10 years ago.
Because there is a market for it.
I also prefer 24" or 24.5" monitors. Since there are no OLED ones at that size, I will not be buying a new monitor any time soon.
I have an iPhone 12 Mini because the size was perfect.
Because do you really need more?
>Fricking trannies and their small gay keyboard. A real alpha like me will keep his mousehand at an uncomfortable angle to accomodate these digits of manliness that I use once in a wee-ACK
Zoomers are afraid of numpads.
Not everybody uses their PC for more than Web browsing.
It's literally in the picture. Are you moronic?
wagiepads are a waste of space
i've been using laptops as primary device for 14 years and i've only missed it to fly the jet in gta sa
so you can put the numpad on the left side where it belongs
Why manlets can't reach mouse if they have full size keyboard .Lmao user development issue
Frick this trend.
Give me more, not less.
>give me more bloatware
nah kys
based
ok troon

That's not "mini" it's just missing keys. Frick you.

Why do either of them exist? It's all Logishit?
If you are so pro elite hacker programmer, this is how you should roll anyway
I HAVE
IM A BIG HACKER
Why doesn't anyone make a full size keyboard with the numpad on the left side for us right handed people
Search for southpaw keyboard.
just buy a TKL and a separate numpad and put that on the left. it works out cheaper (and separate numpads are nice anyway. some of them can be calculators too.(
numpad on the right side is an non-ergonomic relic from the pre-mouse era
Why can't they just place the numpad on the left?
Circumcised keyboard
if they moved the numpad to the left, how long would it take for you to relearn it, it's so ingrained I'm not sure if I can transition. I'll probably end up moving my right hand to the right every time before I realize that the numpad has moved.
A keyboard with a numpad is like a child with autism, good when you need to do some math, but awkward in any other scenario
I like having lots of free space on my desk so I would buy that form factor
Don't care. 75% is goat
trannies
>smaller distance to mouse
>separate numpads exist if you genuinely do that much data entry
after getting used to a 60%, going back to a keyboard with a numpad feels exhausting. There is no reason to add four inches to the most common hand movement in PC use.

So right handed people don't bang their mouse into it while fps gaming. Hi sense morons don't get it.
