Why don't you own a 17 inch laptop? Can't handle a full numberpad?

Why don't you own a 17 inch laptop Anon? Too much of a pussy to handle a full numberpad and 10lbs of pure portable computing power?

I use a NUC with two portable USB monitors because I don't ever need to literally put it in my lap. When I travel I only use computers at hotels etc. In public I use my phone. Laptops are a meme

What's even the argument to have a 14+ inch laptop? Portable desktop replacement?
Imo 13" 3:2 with 15 hours of battery life is far more appealing for a actual laptop. Specially these days where you get 8c/16t CPUs and Radeon iGPUs in them.

literally the average male height in many parts of pacific asia is 5'3
meaning a big part are literally 5'2 and less and barely any ones higher than 5'4 and 5'5

I use the largest possible laptop without a numpad. I find off-centered keyboards harder to use.

Bought a X1 Extreme for that very reason. I hate off-center keyboards. They should just remove the numpad, nobody but boomers use it.

Was gonna get an x1 extreme myself, but I needed that extra 1.7 inches. I don't miss the trackpoint at all since I got used to using the keyboard for everything too.

Yeah I was looking at the Razer too, also the MBP 16 but decided for the X1E (P1 actually, but it had the same config than the X1E). But only got like 6 months of use out of it, after it was stolen from my in vacations in Chile past January.

          >x1 extreme
I had the X1 extreme gen 2 and it pissed me off so hard I got myself an XPS 17 this time. It's unironically a better machine.

I do have a 17 inch laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron 2-in-1. I got it to replace my HP Compaq TC-4400, since the pen on that broke (not surprising for such an old tablet). This seemed like the best modern equivalent, since it has a (mostly) full keyboard, and the components aren't directly soldered to the board and there's some empty slots for RAM and M.2, so there's room to upgrade. Unfortunately, at the time (maybe even still), it turned out that they didn't include the graphics tablet sensor thing in the screens of the 17" models. I also dearly miss the jog wheel on the side of the screen. It made reading in tablet mode an absolute dream. Now I have to use a touchscreen to turn pages, and it's fricking horrible. If you notice a hair, or a spec of dust on the screen, you can't wipe it off, you'll just end up fricking shit up. I'd probably just get another TC-4400 if I didn't need to be able to run decently modern software in a portable form factor.

I'm 20 and I make constant use of the numpad.

i actually do, tho i do not use it
i just find having 2 23" displays + desktop and laptop for bedposting + on the go more usefull for me than carrying 17" laptop with me

but if i would need to be on the go 24/7 i would use the 17" laptop

Buy a USB numpad if you need one that bad.

Because giant laptops are moronic, and I don't want to bother with them anymore.
Instead I will most likely be getting a GPD Pocket 3 when it comes out. 8 inch 2 in 1 like God intended.

    Why?
Just buy a normal sized laptop and dock it when you get home with a proper monitor. You get best of both worlds like that.

I do. XPS 9710 but it's docked right now and I'm too lazy to take a picture.

oh I have a couple of reasons
    >taking one out during lectures would make me look like an idiot
    >I already carry enough weight on my back, no need to carry even more
    >it won't fit in my bag
    >numpads are obsolete if you don't work with 3d gfx programs or anything that requires a numpad
