Why is Meta worth so much? What the frick do they do?
>Own a dying social media company that no one over 30 uses?
>Own a virtual reality company that can't even get 100 sales on new games?
>Own a chat message app for third worlders who don't have iMessage

Facebook is huge as frick and still relevant, there's no other social media that has a groups feature, for starters.
Instagram, still relevant as frick. They also have a good chunk of the VR market now
Once the boomers die off Facebook is fricked. Instagram is good but enough for Meta to be worth so much? I don't see where how people see long potential in this company
People with autism struggle with the idea that other people exist. So if they don't use something it must mean no one does.
Also in many countries ISPs offer cheap Internet plans that only allow access to certain websites (usually government websites and places like YouTube/Facebook etc). As a result many businesses don't have traditional websites but instead just have Facebook pages.
>Also in many countries ISPs offer cheap Internet plans that only allow access to certain websites (usually government websites and places like YouTube/Facebook etc).
That's not that common, and it's a tiny part of metas high valuation.
META valuation is not that high. P/E of 25. Even boomertech fossils like IBM have P/E of 18.
nobody under the age of 30 has used facebook in over a decade
Maybe in America only
instagram is nothing compared to tiktok
they're using unconventional means(robbery) to force bytedance to sell tiktok
Reels is the equivalent of tiktoks though
Instagram does VR?
My understanding is that they're a data broker for targeting advertisements. They're really good at gathering data on people and selling it to companies that want to get their ads in front of potential customers. Besides that, Facebook is still very popular, as far as I can tell.
Over 30s use facebook, under 30s use instagram, everyone except americans uses WhatsApp
Facebook is very present outside of the US, it's the main social media in the Hispanic sphere and other stuff
They serve ads, which they use their customer's data for, making them the billions they had to waste on useless stuff like the meta verse
Oculus is actually decent, and open, on top of that Facebook is looking to make it even more open and sell their system to other companies for VR manufacturing, like Lenovo
I don't like meta, but they're still there for a reason
>Hispanic sphere and other stuff
I didn't know this. Even for young people?
Yeah, you'll find people as young as 13 by the numbers, Facebook is for us what Instagram is for the 'muricans
>Own a dying social media company that no one over 30 uses?
You mean no one under 30? Even so, the 30-and-older demographic is still pretty significant in population.
Yeah I meant no one under 30
Understand marketing 101. Having an old user base is an advantage. People over 30 have more money than people under 30, thus they are more valuable customers. Meta is worth so much precisely because old people use it. Also, everyone in the third world uses it.
Where are your customers when they die off? What will Meta be worth in 20 years? They're being compared to Apple, Google, and Microsoft and I don't understand why.
You're acting like everyone who uses Facebook is 70. Their user base is in their 50s and 40s.
>What the frick do they do?
Sell ads and personal info to the highest bidder
Instagram is basically the new infomercial. It’s a giant massive marketing app that has young women on it. Aka it’s $$$$$$.
Facebook and meta is really shit though outside of that, it’s more propped up by Blackrock for political and cultural influencing purposes
>Instagram (used by everyone)
>Whatsapp (used by everyone outside the US)
>Facebook + Messenger (used by everyone)
>Own a dying social media company that no one over 30 uses?
They also own Instagram and its still ridiculously popular.
>Own a chat message app for third worlders who don't have iMessage
Whatsapp is "the" messaging app outside of America. Most of the world uses it.
>can't even get 100 sales on new games?
what the frick are you talking about
Look at the reviews on new VR games on oculus. Lucky to get over 30 reviews on most. Even the biggest names are like 200 max. Beat Saber has like 410k reviews. What does that say about new VR games. Look at the player count.
It's a massive asset for intelligence agencies or anyone else looking to influence public opinion and bias policies.
They will quite literally MITM attack Snapchat and YouTube Zoomers to try and stay relevant.
>But isn’t that illegal?
Kek, this g0y still thinks the law is fair.
These are still widely used.
Serving ads to 2 billion DAUs
Only people over 30 y/o actually have money to spend so it's lucrative to show ads to them. You poorgays will never understand this while still complaining about all the disposable income boomers have.
>What the frick do they do?
advertise to boomers who then spend their boomer bucks on dumb shit
>why is one of the worlds largest advertising companies so valuable
underaged thread
They can tell marketers what your farts smell like with the amount of spyware they install behind your back. While they tell you they care about you.
Meta is a social arm of the government. They are funded by the state for the state. Zuckerburg was a israelite who made a creeper dating site when he first came onto the scene. When that failed, he got investment for a social media system where you capture all the young generation. Realize this happened right around when government approved student loans became a reality, pushing far more people into college than there has ever been. All of it was on purpose to capture the younger generation, get their information. After the test was a success, he expanded it to non students. Now facebook is considered one of the best sources of intel and data one has ever seen.
Their worth comes precisely from people giving away their information for free under the guise of "communication and sharing of information" despite the fact we've always had both. We already had MySpace. However, Zuckerberg had the superior money package from his israeli investors to market facebook and here we are.
Nothing is a coincidence.
