We like to work towards things that we enjoy or interest us, we aren't accustomed to working for 40 to 60 hours a week doing mindnumbing garbage to enrich someone else

People actually like working if it's to help your tribe and you can see the outcome of your work. Now work is all utterly pointless bullshit jobs that do nothing, or produces output that no one cares about, for anonymous shareholders.

You also forgot the aspect of being rewarded for your hard work, ie raises and promotions. Now, your hard work is rewarded with management getting new cars and your promotion was given to a mouth breather.

Work is the natural human state, if this was millions of years ago you would have to build your own shelter, hunt for you own food, etc. if you hoped to survive. No tribe would drag around dead weight that didn't contribute to the survival and betterment of the group.

It's only thanks to all the excess wealth created by modern capitalism and technology that people like you can even dream of being able to sit around all day eating hot pockets and jacking off to anime while actual productive members of society feed, house, and clothe you.

      Wrong.
Work is not the natural human state - it’s a sense of progress, purpose, and accomplishment that drives us doing things

it is unnatural. the wagie is forced to be a mercenary, expending his precious life for some meaningless effort, just so he has a place to sleep and food to eat. certainly it's more "efficient" to abstract breadwinning from the actual labor of making bread, but it means that all of a wagie's time and focus is spent on some alien act in pursuit of sating his other needs

I don’t enjoy the wage cage but I enjoy working. For me, working is doing yard work / gardening. I like being outdoors. I wish I had the motivation to build a big enough garden to not only live off of but, to also use it as a business. Unfortunately I just hate people way too much to be a business owner

6 hours is probably more healthy and natural and the problem in modernity is that we are atomized from the traditional tribal, community and family structure where you can directly feel your work having effect. its natural to not feel motivated being atomized and working for some abstract company who probably support globohomo. Hard to feel right working for a system that support the replacement of your own kin in your own land

It's not that work is unnatural, it's that the nature of work has changed. It used to be mostly comfy manual labor with very few social demands that even the most autistic person could do with little difficulty. Often your coworkers were just your own family and your place of employment was your own property.

The point OP is trying to make is that the MODERN version of work is unnatural. At this very moment in time "work" is entirely very fake and gay, most "work" hardly even grants you the basics in life like having a family, home, real life experience, ya know just normal to have human shit. At least when you we're part of a tribe your work actually granted things such as probably a house (hut or whatever), family, community, all that natural good stuff. Completely different situation. It is not natural to work for 40/50 hours a week and come out with basically nothing. Right now modern work is simply doing all the "work" without the natural reward. If you think differently than you are just moronic and I'm sorry.

Learn to code (or get knowledgeable in a niche tech field) and get a WFH job. It doesn't even feel like I actually work anymore. It's how you beat the game. I seriously wake up 5 minutes before my shift and spend the first 2 hours in bed. Sometimes I'm doing work during those 2 hours, sometimes I'm watching Netflix. For the next 2 hours I might do some actual work in my home office, but it's in a comfy chair and littered with breaks where I get coffee, make breakfast, go to the bathroom, make more coffee, etc. For my last 2 hours, if I'm not in the middle of working on something, I merely check my emails/Teams messages to make sure nothing is going on and play on my phone, make lunch, or do literally anything I want. I love my job so much, it's so incredibly easy.

I seriously will sometimes find myself board on the weekends looking forward to work on Monday because there are times when my weekends are almost identical to my work week - minus being required to "work" if something comes up. At least if I get board Monday thru Friday I can find something to work on and occupy my time.

Working from home has also afforded me the opportunity to find a niche category in e-commerce and build a side business where I am profiting an extra $25kish a year. I can also move states, even countries if I wanted to and keep my job. I want everyone to get a WFH job to put pressure on other companies to open up to the idea. It's such a huge bonus - I'm not even kidding when I'd say I wouldnt take a job that paid 50% more if I was required to go to their office.
