i watched lain and many other anime series, and i agree that your post is troon tier because of the avatargayging shit and the weird need to find "fun" in a fricking linux install.
ever installed gentoo or a BSD? bet you haven't, because you're probably busy larping on discord with your troon friends.

gentoo is literally as easy as following instructions, are you that moronic?

an OS should be as boring as possible, it's there for you to use, not to play with. Go back to playing video games if you don't have any work to do

To enjoy linux you need to be a moron, pick a really crappy distro, and be spending your time having fun customizing and solving problems you yourself caused.

Your computer is a tool, the exciting stuff is the stuff you build and create with your computer.

That depends. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you enjoy..
    1. Cleaning chores like dishes, mopping, and dusting.
    2. Home improvement chores like hanging drywall, moving furniture, and fixing pipes.
    3. Outdoor chores like mowing, weeding, and raking.
    4. Taking a multivitamin every day.
Answer these questions and you will have your operating system.

Reformatting your PC is the cause of the emptiness. Windows is the solution, since you'll never have to reformat unless your HDD starts failing, unlike Linux which seems to break every few months or so (see Arch and their recent fiasco with libmount breaking everyone's DE and internet)

Can confirm. Wasted alot of time.
Never bother with anything UNIX-related outside of an SSH'd terminal.

Just googled it and it was due to people mindlessly enabling testing repos. Sounds exactly like the kind of moronic shit Wingays do when they cry about how broken muh loonicks is.

What the hell kind of excitement are you looking for out of an OS? Where are you expecting "life" to magically come from? It's a computer. The OS is just code to manage data and processes and hardware.
If you want life and excitement then the linux distro for you is called "adopting a pet"

no, you're supposed to customize the distro with your own imagination. If it isn't exciting then it's a user error

You OS is supposed to get the job done at the first place. Everything else is secondary goal.
