Why would you buy any other PSU brand than Seasonic, FSP or Super Flower? They are basically the only known PSU brands that actually make their own PSU's. Rather than likes of Corsair and EVGA who use multiple different no name Chinese OEM's, so you have no idea who actually makes those PSU's.
i think corsair uses Seasonic for their better psus and they're better value sometimes.
not really as big of a difference as 15 years ago anyway.
Not really. For example the HX1000i which is a 1000W 80 Plus platinum unit is made by Channel Well Technology. And the AX1600i a 1600w 80 plus titanium PSU is made by Flextronics. And then mid range stuff like RM850e is made by High-Quality Evolution Commitment or HEC. And then budget stuff like the CX650W is made by Great Wall.
ah okay. how are the other oems better though?
I mean a high quality unit is still a high quality unit. But Seasonic, FSP and Super Flower have the advantage that you know that they did make those PSU's and know their reputation. While with other you have to look it all up.
Cybenetics is a blessing though. Any new PSU that is released is gonna have a cybenetics report and they tell you the OEM.
Mostly inertia and participation in making ATX power supplies.
Power supplies really aren't super special. I really only like FSP because they conformal coat their PSUs which I think should be mandatory for PSUs meant for long term use, but outside of that I have no reason to really trust one or the other.
You have tens if not a hundred of wall warts and other AC to DC power supplies made by god knows who and most of them probably work fine, it's not even something you probably thought about until now.
Corsair also has the Shift series which is really nice for easier cable management in larger cases.
most Seasonic psus suck now
*most psus suck now
You can't rely on a single brand to be trustworthy anymore. Gotta look up the exact model. Building a PC has become a giant fricking nightmare
that's what I've always done. Only reddit Black person morons see
>seasonic
and go
>shut up and take my money
check that list made by that forum autist for psu recs
>Building a PC has become a giant fricking nightmare
lol same as it has been for over a decade
just use logical increments
frick off falcon and kys
>Building a PC has become a giant fricking nightmare
Only because morons obsess over every fricking tiny detail
Back on my day there was a few things that weren't fussed over quite as much as today
>Cases were almost entirely a preference
>motherboards were almost entirely a preference and budget choice
>RAM speed doesn't really matter
>you get a 550w/650w PSU from a decent brand and it'll serve you for almost anything
Nowadays tards make decisions based on reports if coil whine or some other non-sense that has nothing to do with reliability or performance
I bought several chinese brands psu, now running a Segotep 600w, never had any blow up.
Meanwhile my friends with Corsairs and Seasonics already had some die
Bow to the king
forgot the pic of course
CWT has been good
>seething chuds don't overclock their PSUs
You have no idea who makes any of the other ones either
my usb microphone makes buzzing noise when im running load on gpu
is my microphone shitty, is it the gpu, or is it psu?
USB ports are very noisy and any audio device connected to one needs to be well designed to filter that shit out.
I wanted a PSU made by CWT
>Super Flower
I refuse to use humiliation ritual names like superflower fedora gimp and so on
You are free to post Your reddit shill charts and guess what, i am still using Seasonic and still buying seasonic when ever i need one or build for some of my girls, its simply just reliably working
I bought Corsair and Thermaltake SFX PSU for Mini-ITX builds.
