Phone speaker is only on one side, so watching content with the phone horizontally is virtually unbearable for me, watching videos is the only time I would use my phone horizontally anyway

It was okay back then because only a few things even used it but after android honeycomb everything supported it so now every turns. Also gyros are inaccurate these days, you can't even calibrate it in most phones now, no animation for the screen rotation either.

Because its a shit feature, if I turn my phone and I want it to rotate I can press the little bottom corner icon when it shows up.
