Maybe. My kindlidly doo from Amazon keeps deleting my custom book covers for my side loaded books and it's pissing me off. I spent a lot of time drawing my own covers and it just wipes them away. Need something more open.
I would if they released a Sage or Elipsa color (and added fricking page turn buttons to the Elipsa)
6 or 7 inches is too small (inb4 "that's what she said"), I find my Sage a bit on the small side already
>Just wait until carta 1300 comes to kobo.
so... the Clara BW that's being released at the same time as the color one? >You can't read comic books or pdfs on a kobo anyway.
huh? Kobos read pdf, cbz and epub natively you moron
>Not on a screen that size
then get a Sage or an Elipsa if you want a bigger screen, it's not that hard. now you can read comics and pdfs, you're welcome

the Sage has page turn buttons. I would know, I have one
I read Heavenly Delusion on my Clara HD. It was a little small, but generally big *enough*
No. What is the use case for color? Manga usually black and white. Anything else with color is better on an iPad.
Comic books and color visual novels? I'll admit it's a gimmick. They're probably justifying the investment they spent on this "feature."
I will never understand why people waste their money on useless shit like this. Can't you just read on your phone, laptop, tablet? Why is this necessary?
I haven't invested much on my Kobo, only $40 + $20 for a lot of microSD cards, but it has certainly been a pleasure. It has helped me focus my attention on solely reading (no shitposting) and to whittle my screen time down at night. Plus, I can sideload any book on it and give my brain a little squeeze from time tot time. I do not have to lug a laptop around just to read either. All the latter statements anon made I agree with as well. IMO it was a worthwhile purchase, rather than the useless junk /tpg/ hoards...

>don't need backlight to read outside >battery that lasts for weeks >distraction-free, single-purpose devices >screen that doesn't kill your eyes after an hour of reading >more comfortable to hold than a phone or a tablet, much lighter than a laptop
it's not "necessary" but it's a lot more comfortable
Nah, the Kindle Paperwhite 2 I bought in 2014 still works just fine, I can't justify buying a new e-reader just for colors. Maybe in a few years. Sounds like a very nice invention though, hope you enjoy it.

as long as you can still create a fake offline user with a single line of sqlite, yes

there's something wrong with people who can't tell that reading e-ink is a million times better than on something backlit.

No, because my x86 full aluminum linux tablet is vastly superior than this small POS
