i bought a $25 laptop off craigslist to leave at my part-time job so i wouldn't have to bring mine in, and i have to admit, i used win10 for a while and it's pretty comfortable if you just need a media consumption device. i had the iot version with everything turned off though. id imagine the candy crush ads, forced updates, etc would annoy the frick out of me if i was trying to get something important done

Actually a lot of people are still using daily Windows 7 and even XP without ever getting hacked. Just keep your webbrowser updated as long as you can, don't use cracked softwares for they always come with a bonus virus, don't open attachments of suspicious emails, and you will never have any problem.
