Windows is the most useless feature in windows. Imagine using OS that is owned by some corporation having straight mitm over the internet.

Every linux distro that worth a dam is owned by a corporation

You can't own a Linux distro. No, can't own even if you make it because it is licensed that way. For example Canonical doesn't own Ubuntu on your machine if you install it. You own it. It is legally your property. Now go cuck yourself with your wifes boyfriend.

No, you just paid for it (or pirated, doesn't matter). You can pay for iPhone or Steam game or seat warmer in BWM, doesn't mean you own anything. You just paid a fee so you have permission to use it for how long corporation wants you to use it. You don't own anything. That is literally definition of being a cuck.

I use it, shit doesn't always immediately load

Either 'jeet or underage b& detected. You can easily make a distro that you "own", even if you freely give out the kernel (with or without the GNU utils). There's nothing stopping you from building a proprietary, locked in shell atop it (see

          >You can't own a Linux distro
          gpl 2.0

). E.g. Doing something similar to what Google has done with Android or Chrome OS, even though they're both still very open

it's literally there just in case windows doesn't auto refresh. it comes in handy when the os is being a piece of shit

No, because there's this weird mode Windows can get in without you knowing why or how to revert it back, where nothing updates in Explorer, unless you use the refresh button. Renaming files/folders, adding files/folders, removing files/folders all don't update and you have to use the refresh button before you see actual changes. Windows is such shit.

Also, restarting doesn't fix it, and even Microsoft support suggests nuking your OS and doing a full reinstall of Windows. No one actually knows how to fix this shit, not even the people making it.

Why are you so surprised? Your "operating system" is nothing more than a webservice at this point. Why do you think you can't uninstall Edge? They will soon pull the plug and make you pay monthly for their webservice. It has been obvious for years what their end goal is. You deserve no better, wincucks.

My cousin always refreshes his desktop when he's bored or waiting for something, he's been doing that since 7 got released.

Refresh is comfy, and more linux DEs should have it. You morons can't pretend that Plasma or GNOME never had a bug where copying or unzipping or moving a file didnt update in real time and you never had to reload it in some what for it to show up.

    no, wtf
    linux should unironically have this
I use refresh whenever I move or delete massive amounts of shit
refreshing lets me easily see the progress
also, when files are created from commandline or something
it's a totally minor thing but it's not a bad thing
