40 books a year a lot? What's your experience with women who read a lot?

        >What's your experience with women who read a lot?
My girlfriend could be considered as such because she read AT ALL (mostly Dickens),but that's a low hanging apple when it comes to women. If they read at all it's Stephen King, this year's bestsellers or some other phony, forgettable crap like Jill Biden's fricking book.

unrealistic romantic exceptions. one b***h admitted that she had unrealistic expectations because of all the smut and shit she read. i wanted to murder her. this was in highschool mind you, shes probably fat now and has three children from three different fathers. many such cases. if women would read intellectually stimulating things then it would be fine. but no, they dont.

All women ever read is smut or marx. Would rather take an illiterate one if I had the chance

          >All women ever read is smut
Why is that? Is it decadence? A sign of degeneration?

it certainly could be a consequence. ive never had a deep, deep conversation with a woman, only had such conversations with probably one man for that matter. intellect-oriented people of any criteria are hard to find, but when it comes to women the odds are fricking abysmal. not saying im an intellectual, but i am geared toward that mode of thought. just wish i could really study and intimately examine how the general philosophy of the human race has "progressed" over the last few centuries. honestly it would probably immediately force your consciousness itself to commit suicide out of sheer humanitarian existential disappointment if you could objectively observe such a thing though. love from kazakhstan

The good thing is that we're individuals, there will always be those who rise above the mediocrity.

This is a real issue with women who read a lot of romance books and watch a lot of romantic movies and tv shows. It's like a mind-virus for them.

What the frick are you talking about? Marx is way too fricking hard for most women
      >Would rather take an illiterate one if I had the chance
I can see you have no taste. Semi-literate,"trad" fat c**ts are fricking annoying. Makes me want to smash their fricking face in.

For me it's Edith Wharton that's unreadable, yet women love that shit.

Edith Wharton is solid. Don't even bother with Henry "The Master" James if you've been filtered this hard.

I struggle with works that have no deeper meaning. The superficiality of Wharton is too much, the romanticism does nothing but weaken the heart.

You've been filtered by the surface before you could even be filtered by the depths. A very sorry state of affairs.

When you read tragedy you're just practising for it to happen to you in real life. You subconsciously absorb it and recreate in your life. I read Wharton with gloves on and it was still too much. She's a decaying human being, a very sorry one. Not that I pity her.

abso-fricking-lutely yay. but if they read a lot of GOOD or at least decent books, not the fricking бeлeтpиcтикa.

My girlfriend was really upset that she couldn't unwind after a long day last night because she has watched every bit of content her streaming services have to offer. I suggested she turn the TV off and read a book instead and she nearly had a meltdown, she thought I was being mean or sarcastic with her. That's the life she lives. Reading is so far out of her world that it can only be a sick joke to suggest.

That's the most depressing thing I've read today. It speaks poorly on you, that you would be attracted to such a thing.

It is a gentle, domestic habit, therefore, I would say "YEA". Of course, it depends on WHAT she is reading: fiction is good, biographies are good, whereas non-fiction, as well as philosophy, are major red flags.

It depends, most of them just read YA books anyway, and I consider that reading as much as I consider this writing.
