Have you ever actually listened to anything through airpods or any other apple earbuds in general? I'm willing to bet whatever 15 dollar earbuds that anon had in mind have better audio quality than apple shit.

yes, i own airpods pro 2 and use them every day, and no, anon's chinkpods for 15 dollars don't have better audio quality

actually moronic to think that $15 chinkshit earphones have better quality.

      > good for running

I don't believe you can run with them without them falling out. Heck, people lose them all the time just walking

idk they never fall out for me, i have ran a half marathon with them without any issues and use them for training constantly
they come with three different sizes of buds, just use the correct size for your ears

The silicone they use for the tips slowly slide out but you can buy better ones on aliexpress for like 25 cents.

Again, the whole fricking thing is slippery as frick

I ended up buying a pair because I had enough credit card points for $200, but during COVID my bank had a "shop local" promo where if you used your points to buy a giftcard to a Canadian store you got extra, so I ended up using the points to buy a $300 giftcard to a shopping center that had an Apple store inside it and used the mall gift card to buy airpod pros.

I don't think I would buy them again. The instant pair is nice, and broadly as far as sound goes, they're really good. The transparency mode is very, very useful for cycling, driving, or just walking at night.

Apple-circle jerk aside, these for some reason are VERY SLIPPERY. The case is this gloss plastic, and I've dropped them atleast 20 times, and every time you drop them, the airpods themselves fly out of the case and you have to get them from under the TV or dresser. I think they're designed like that so you keep buying new pairs.

The customer support is fantastic though, twice I've dropped them and they stopped working during the warranty period. I took them to the apple store, shrugged my shoulders and said I've never dropped them, and they replaced them for me for free, both times.

I don't know why people keep repeating that: "you HAVE to be on the ecosystem bro!!" I use them with my pixel and it works perfectly. Just download a FOSS app for checking the battery and done, the rest is done by the airbuds touch control.

After a while they need to be. Cleaned extensively in order forcthe ANC to work otherwise it will sound like shit when transparency mode is enabled and ANc will not be very effective.

Cleaning them is not easy due to the placement of the MIC and cleaning the grill area is pretty hard.

Otherwise, they are great for what they provide, can’t comment in the competition tho

I had AirPod gen 3 and loved them but gave them to my wife because she kept taking and breaking my corded ones. I bought pro with usb c and they are way better. I also just got replacement memory foam tips because the silicon ones did feel like they were slipping out my ear, these foam tips reduce ear fatigue significantly and arguably better audio. Highly recommend replacing the tips

You better buy sennheiser momentum 3 if you really care about the sound quality.

Surprisingly little shit flinging ITT, well done guys.

I'm a huge advocate for them, but go big or go home. If you aren't getting the Pros you might as well be getting Galaxy Buds. The Pro 2's sound great, the ANC is strong, and transparency mode comes in handy frequently.

I bought a pair actually as an incentive to get in the gym more, as I was using some over-ear headphones at home at the time, and didn't want to bring them into the gym. They've been one of my favorite purchases, and is something I look forward to every time I go lift. If you've ever used Android or a custom ROM, it's a night and day difference in connectivity and QOL.

I remember when I was using CalyxOS, manually going into Settings every time I wanted to pair a Bluetooth device and then waiting for it to connect. Which took like 20s on average. With the AirPods, I take them out of the case, put them in my ear, and hear a little "ding". My headphones are now connected, and I can click the stem to start playing the song I had previously playing, with no fuss. I don't even have to take my phone out of my pocket. People shit on the "it just werks" advertising, but it really does, if you give it a chance.

Personal story: I bought a MacBook recently because I started to go all in on the Apple shit, so once I finished setting up the laptop I went in to Settings to pair my AirPods to the laptop. But since iCloud syncs the Bluetooth address, I didn't even have to pair them with the new laptop. It's already good to go. Same exact process, put them in your ear, "ding", Anon's AirPods are now connected to Anon's Laptop. No "searching for device", "connect device", "connecting to device". Even crazier, if you pull out your iPhone (not sure on Android) and hit play for the music on that device, it switches over from the laptop to the phone. "Anon's AirPods switched to Anon's iPhone". No input required, it just does it.

    I'd say they're worth it.

so so worth anon. experiencing noise cancellation for the first time was life changing. I was outside in the rain, constant noise. Instant silence. then the music. I believe noise cancellation is the only correct way to listen to music. you hear everything so clearly. it’s like you’re in a room alone with the sound. i’m not an audiophile but I love them

  15. 2 weeks ago

I don't think they're worth it because the batteries in these things go to shit

If you're okay with paying the price tag then have the battery life go to shit after 3yrs okay, but I find the $20-30 earbuds have decent ANC now

  16. 2 weeks ago

Sony and Sennheiser are better. The "just werks" factor is moronic because pairing a Bluetooth device is so easy a 3 year old can probably do it first try. The sound quality is better than I expected from Apple, but at such a high price, just get Sony or Sennheiser. You're paying a premium so you may as well actually get a premium product. In reality, Bluetooth sounds worse than wired, so if you can make wired work, you'll get much better sound quality with some IEMs. Me personally, I'd buy the Sony over ear ANC Bluetooth headphones if I had to use a wireless option.

Depends on how much you value your money. It's a lower middle class trait to not care about spending money on frivolous things.
I have a JBL set I use for when I'm working on my plane. The noise canceling is pretty nice since airfields are always noisy on nice weekends.

I can't go back to anything without noise cancelation.
I mainly use it when I go for an excercise. Not sure why, but I have never had mine fall out of my ears unlike many other reviews.
Audio quality is bretty good, but leaves much too be desired compared to audiophile earphones like ER-4.
There is connection instability, disconnections, and glitch where only 1 side plays sound, but they are rare enough to be ignored.
    Otherwise, I'd just use headphones.

They're amazing right out the box, but a few months in the transparency stops working as well, you can't clean them, the mic quality gets shittier, and the battery life becomes terrible. I've had 1st gen for a year and I can only average 4 hours.
