If you just play things inside the same browser you use to surf the web, you only have 1 instance open. If you use a browser AND an electron app you have 2 instances of browsers open.

I took a look at PipePipe on github after reading anons post.
I stepped back because of BiliBili support and another double namer I'd never heard of.
Even if there were trust issues with the developers, the application itself is sandboxed within Android and the file access only applies to one single directory. No further permissions are required.
In contrast:
This one uses the official app, which still accesses the entirety of your phone stealing your data wherever it can.

Revanced is free as in freedom and as in beer, you can poke to the sources and every android app have the same permissions you allow it too.
I saw some unfamiliar things. After reading your post I reminded myself NewPipe was new to me as well but I took a chance on freeing myself from the YouTube app (and browser).
I have PipePipe right now, at first glance it looks very similar to np with fewer features. Imported my subs flawlessly. I'll have to see what its like without invidious kI know it falls back to invidious).
