that's an arbitrary function I wouldn't ever use or think to use lol, any modern computer doesn't need that function

This is the gnometards response to any and every feature development. >What's the use case? >Why do you need this? >You don't need that >I don't care that macOS and Windows does this GNOME doesn't need it >What's an XFCE? >This battle has already been lost >I don't need this so why should I care about you? >We need designers to sign off on that >Red Hat doesn't need this

>turn off mouse acceleration
I've never ever felt the need to change mouse settings on any system, what's the use case for that?

You don't need a mouse in the first place, which is why turning off mouse acceleration is not needed. You only need a touchpad.
A system tray.
A panel.
Minimize and maximize window buttons.
A traditional menu that isn't made for tablets and doesn't block my entire screen.
ISO date option.
Your response to all of these will be >you don't need it
I just decided on gnome for daily driver
now is your chance to change my mind or to cement my choice
I just need a stable, reliable DE that works well out of the box
yes it's missing the desktop environment .
but for real, I hated the top bar whatever it is called.

Yeah I'm a mactroon originally so I think it'll feel natural to me but I get that, that's why I didn't choose for those DE that look like they come with a windows taskbar

the thing is that I used to make kde behave somewhat like a mac and I enjoyed it. I don't hate change or trying new things, but gnome just isn't it, it feels more like a demo than an actual usable desktop and it doesn't give you the feeling of power and control, rather it reminds me of locked down devices
>out of the box
I like XFCE but the default settings are shit, plus from what I remember the whisker menu doesn't even come with the base DE, and the super key doesn't even open it
>NOOO I NEED TO CUSTOMIZE MY DE LIKE I CUSTOMIZE MY BODY
kys KDE troony
I don't need to do anything, it's you who needs 30 third-party extensions to get basic features present in every other desktop ever made.
name a single (one) feature Gnome needs beyond its stock configuration lol
