You might not like it, but its a fact that Windows Vista was the last "soulful" Windows OS.

7 was functionally better than Vista, yet it was soulless.

Vista was the single worst event in the history of computing. Its release was the day computing died.

I am not spreading some meme, my opinions on Vista are my owned backed up by actual reasons.

My number one reason to hate vista was because they completly ruined the graphics subsystem. Before vista, windows had an incredible hardware accelerated UI that was incredibly fast and responsive, vista tore that all out replacing it all with software rendering, all for a transparent window gimmick.

You're wrong and also rarted. Desktop Window Manager and Aero require hardware acceleration on Vista and 7 and they use the same stacking window manager as XP when aero is disabled.

They use hardware acceleration to do something completly superfluous, compositing, whilst rendering the actual window content in software. And with aero disabled, there is straight up zero hardware acceleration at all, yes they use the original stacking window manager, but wddm removed all the GDI hardware acceleration functions so everything has to be done in software. It runs like complete garbage, since the frame buffer has to be kept in system memory and copied to the gpu whenever, which results in an incredibly laggy UI.

GDI hardware acceleration made some sense back when drawing flat-shaded boxes/lines and copying bitmaps around the surface buffers could make the single CPU core sweat a bit.
It's fricking pointless on modern hardware. That kind of drawing is completely trivial now, and low-level "draw a single line here" APIs are completely unsuited to the kind of batch processing GPUs are good at. If programs run like garbage now, it's because their architecture consists of web browsers running in web browsers, running incompetently engineered JavaScript. I'd be surprised if they used GDI at all, except where it's absolutely needed for compatibility with some 30 year old Windows UI features.

The value of hardware acceleration is not because CPUs are slow. But rather because pci/pcie is as slow as treacle. Hardware acceleration makes it such that all graphics operations stay on the gpu.

Vista was the single worst event in the history of computing. Its release was the day computing died.

        Vista was THE GAMING OS

I would argue Vista is the best OS for games from the years 2005 to 2010

Its not good for non gaming though.

XP was best for games only: 2001-2004
XP was best for Win32 software only: 2001 - 2011

Best for games PLUS software, both win32 and win64 was Win7 64 bit for softwares made in 2010 to 2019

I would say 2019 was when Win7 started to die out because gradually more and more software refused to work in it

It NEVER was "the" gaming os you dumb homosexual, not for a year and certainly not for 5 years. Most people from 2005-2010 used xp. Install your extended kernel and dilate.

You can thank Vista for finally fixing Windows audio and video drivers, even if it took Nvidya a few months to rework their drivers for the new architecture and a lot of BSODs happened until then.
Some other systems struggle with elementary shit like sharing video surfaces efficiently between processes to this day.
