What was the reason for them to crush in that ad? To make you put all your personal data on your iPad, "buy" (rent) virtual instruments from their App Store that sound shittier?
>Look, it has the same processor as our laptops!
Does this mean it can run a real OS now? >No
Okay so like... Is there literally any new feature besides theoretical AI buzzword nonsense? >It's thinner!
We don't want thinner we want larger batteries and a real os. Anything? Literally anything? Like give us a crumb. >uhhhh
Then no thanks.
If Apple cared about their products they would merge the iPad Pros and the MacBook Airs into a Surface-like convertible, and integrate iPadOS as a "touch-only mode" that macOS can switch to, for running iPad apps and using the computer without peripherals.
It would be such a massive success, but apparently it would make them less money, so they keep essentially nerfing their own products.
iPadOS isn't just an interface layer. It simples down the entire OS and limits the clutter of a desktop one. This might sound horrible for some autists who wants to change everything about their system but it improves the comfort for normal people who just want to do their work.
What's really needed is simply some "Advanced User Mode" which lets you install MacOS software on it, like you'd do in a virtual box.
Why can't they make the iPad switch between the two?
Something like Windows 8, but not as moronic.

W8 doesn't switch between different OS, it just adds a tablet interface. Based on the love it and Windows on tablets received generally, it's obviously not the best way to go about things.
If Apple execs were intelligent they would offer the option of unlocking their bootloaders or signing custom images like you can do on a PC with SecureBoot for like 10 fricking years now. Even Linux with GNOME would be preferable to iOS. There's no good reason these things can't run full macOS or even Windows 11 for ARM with all required drivers included.
The anti-R2R shit is also peak pissbrain and makes Apple one of the most environmentally unfriendly companies in the world.
Stage Manager has be out for a while, basically it gives you soooome freedom over size and placing of windows instead of having to open all in full screen/side by side.
>still goyslop handheld television targeting Black folk
it's still this. their days as a computer manufacturer are well behind them since making computers only represents around 30% or so of their profits. the money is in ishit for Black folk that can only mash touch screens with obese palms.
Disappointingly few changes in hardware vs my 2020 one. VERY disappointing that old keyboards and pens are useless … like, I'd buy the better versions anyway but it still feels disgusting when it's not a choice to improve on things you have but a decision forced by the company. The prices are … not nice. But anyway, do I get a black or white keyboard for the space black one?
Also Air is still a total waste of the lineup. Selling shit for 800 bucks without FaceID is just fricked up. 11 Air should be the base iPad at 450 or so and 13 follow the similar pricing/branding.
>Thinner
For what purpose >iPad OS
This pretty much the only thing that is gimping these machines. It does not really matter what internals Apple puts in them, because the current OS cannot run the MacOS programs that people actually want to use, this machine pretty much becomes a glorified iPod touch. >tl;dr
Wake me up when this thing can run MacOS.
If they ran MacOS I'd get one just so I could stop feeling like trash for a bit. Until next year, where I'll feel like trash again for different reasons.
it's not made for me

>All you need is an iPad, you don't need all that other garbage in your room.
>*iPad dies years later* Oops!
>Black hand
none.
more e-waste for in a year.

What does this mean?
"Right to repair." IE you can't fix the device you have to throw the whole thing out and buy a fresh one.
Ah right, thank you
The screenshots make it look like they have something like Dex in iPads now with multi-window support. Small step in the right direction I guess?

buy a fricking ad, street shitting marketing pajeet.
Bought an iPad and a piano 6 years ago. iPad is ewaste now and the piano is basically still new. Won’t make that mistake again.
Going to replace my 7th gen iPad with newest Air
Can they run Linux yet or is it still goyslop handheld television targeting Black folk?

What do people use ipads for? Someone got me one as a gift and I literally only use it to draw while on the toilet.

software is like a phone and too expensive
Who needs to go to the gym when you can lift the iPad Pro or iPad Air all day.
>Below 1.5 pounds is heavy
You need to go visit >>
Dude, I’m on IQfy. I’m a nerd.
That's no excuse.
Literally much lighter than any other tablet of that size?
It has the horsepower to run macos but apple is anti consumer
Like always
picrel is the definition of Black personlicious
I don't think I've ever used an iPad
I genuinely thought that was shit in the thumbnail but apparently it's way worse
If they ran MacOS I'd get one just so I could stop feeling like trash for a bit. Until next year, where I'll feel like trash again for different reasons.
m4 base single core is faster than core i9 14900kf
I wanna see what the m4 pro, max, ultra are gonna be
Their single core performance is unlikely to change much anyway.
