Where do I go, like, when I need to empty out the shit? Where's the water hookup? Do I get electricity out there? Do they carry Scooby Snacks at Hokey's General Shop #42?
there are only about 5 or 6 states that have the appropriate laws and land zoning that allow you to build a proper homestead at an affordable price
kentucky, west virginia, tennessee, missouri, arkansas and alaska
kentucky just seems to be the best overall for affordability generally, low taxes
see you could never find a property like this in illinois, all there is is cornfields for millions of dollars, unless your great great great grandad settled the land in 1823 you won't be breaking into the illinois farmland/homestead real estate market
so that is the reason I post kentucky the most, of course I post other states from time to time

So a bunch of shitholes. Thanks bud. I'm sure people would love to move out to these places.

see, that's your politically motivated opinion but objectively, the best properties to build a homestead are in the states I listed
generally because property taxes are below 1 percent and the land isn't being used for extensive farming operations at the moment

Yeah and you casually leave out the parts where the areas are pure shitholes, the job markets are non-existent, and if you even want to go to a store it's going to be hour drive easily. There's a reason the land is cheap moron.

see, you don't list why you think they're "shitholes", but I'm sure it's /misc/ related and totally unrelated to anything factual on the ground
you can't go 30 minutes in any direction on the mainland united states without finding a chain grocery store, it is impossible
the land is cheap primarily because people are too lazy to do actual physical labor, in order to prepare themselves for hard times economically

>"IT'S YOUR POLITICALLY MOTIVATED OPINION!!!" >*is actually his own politically motivated opinion driving him to make moronic financial decisions"
I'm unironically in commercial real estate and all of those states are undesirable economically non-viable shitholes that no one wants anything to do with for a reason. I'm not going to buy a parcel of land, sit on in for the next 20 years HOPING something acts as a catalyst that will make it appreciate in value. What you're going to need to do is develop it into something but those states have no industry. I don't want a fricking homestead either meme moron. My grandparents were subsistence farmers in Eastern Europe. I spent my early years on a farm. It's shit. It sucks. It's not "honorable" or whatever the frick. Lol. Stupid deluded gay. Your "trad wife" was actually a prostitute before you met her and she probably doesn't put out for you.

you aren't buying the land to make a profit by selling the land, you're buying the land to facilitate your lifestyle and save as much money as possible while surviving on this planet
see, you are moronic, and you don't understand this basic concept that I've said thousands of times

Didn't I mention that I practically grew up on a farm? There isn't anything that is being facilitating by living on a homestead save for arthritis and back pain. I know you don't actually live on one because you wouldn't be gassing it up the way you have been for months. All of that "wholesome and trad" bullshittery is a meme perpetuated by people on social media who make money off of you. It's hard work with awful reward. Why would I want to do it when I can just travel a fews a years somewhere nice and "be with nature" or whatever the frick? You idiots make your lives harder than you need to of your own volition. Go get some sun on your taint and eat raw meat and save the West bro.

NC acreage is a lot more pricey. If you want to be anywhere near the coast it's going to be even worse. Generally speaking the better the economy, the worse the land prices.

There were 40 acre+ parcels all over the Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas that were going for under $100k with access to water before the pandemic. I saw some go for as little as $30-40k but you'd have to do a little permit getting and development on them before you could enjoy them. It will probably take the end of the decade for things to come back down to reasonable levels.

by the end of the decade the boomers will be dead and it will be a free for all, with armed gangs roaming the land taking the properties for free
the general idea is buying a property like this now, so you can build up the infrastructure and have everything in place for the times of uncertainty
during the times of chaos and uncertainty it will be too late and supply shortages and general hyperinflation will be a massive problem just for day to day survival

Lol. Give it a rest anon. I'm waiting for the end of the decade and I'm going to build a game and nature reserve where people can come and hunt. I want to do a botanical garden or something of the sort where families can come and have tours and picnic and have fun. But notice how these all revolve around me collecting money and not living out of them or anything of the sort.

people will be able to hunt anywhere because the government won't be able to enforce property rights, only the local governments will on some level
yea collecting money out of your farm generally means selling the things you make on your farm, but since the property taxes are so low it isn't absolutely neccesary, you could just hoard assets and go with inflation like the boomers have for the last 30 years
that's if the system stays afloat
if the system dies then you have a homestead to survive on, win win
