I currently make six figures doing a development job that doesnt take my skills for granted. Leetcode is a skill but it doesnt teach you anything. Any basics of optimization and other such things are learned as you become a better programmer in general. Ive ran into so much production code that doesn't even bother to use the techniques they use, not to mention the thousands of libraries out there that give you ready made algoritms, it's a waste of time.

True, which is why Im currently working for a local company making six figures. More relaxing, mostly remote, small rent cause my friend owns a house, it's comfy. If I had to work for Google or FB, I would have to suffer Washinton or California culture and economy. No thanks.

call me a moronic tradlarp or whatever but I really hate the idea of my girl dressing attractive around other men, so I look for the girly ones who are best friends with their moms

the downside is that I can't really go far with it, can't get her to even dye her hair, makeup I have to convince her too and it's only once in a while because it's bad for skin, outfits I have to buy her shit and tell her to only wear it inside (which I could only do recently because you can't just do that immediately)

overall it's a lot of shaping the woman up in general, but I never have to worry about faithfulness or her even going anywhere without her parents or me

The O(n) solution is difficult to intuitively understand and nobody would write code like this in any codebase that many people will have to read and maintain. So leetcode is basically encouraging bad software engineering practices.

That kind of thing isn't what people get hired for anyway. Like 75% of the job is knowing the business, 20% is being likable, and 5% is number crunching or theory. If a company is giving anything beyond a fizzbuzz in an interview, they're looking for at least some level of autism

            Anonymous

Except not really. You're assuming that tech autism goes in one direction instead of many.

If you deal with any industry, you get quizzed on technical aspects of things pertinent to that industry. For example, a technical interview for a job in medical records will ask you about HL7. In this case, knowing about HL7 is more important than knowing about hash maps or anything you're going to see on jeetcode.

This applies to every industry. Pick one out of a hat. They all need techies, but they need techies who know that industry. 75% of your final grade is knowing that industry. Maybe 20% is raw tech Asperger's.
