Someone should make the YWNBAW copypasta, but instead it's shitting on webp. I don't have a local LLM to do this because ChatGPT or Anthropic doensn't allow le transphobia
What kind of moronic image viewer and editor are you using?
They probably haven't even tried to use one.
Install Krita or Gimp to edit and Irfanview with plugins to view images. Irfanview is ultra fast, Krita is easy to use and Gimp... well it's Gimp.
>Irfanview is ultra fast,
It's not even a tenth as fast as ACDSee Classic 2.4, I can literally display 30 images per second with that by just using the scroll wheel in any of my folders with 1000+ images..
Windows photo viewer
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/14312-restore-windows-photo-viewer-windows-10-a.html
The old Windows one still packaged in Windows 11. It has the best behavior or simple UI compared to any other 3rd party image viewer. Although, I use mpv for animated gifs.

>cant open it in image viewer
>can't open it in image editor
On Windows maybe, both works perfectly fine out of the box on Linux
Don't forget it also came with a free RCE exploit in the almost universally used library for decoding it (provided by the company that defined the format).
Let me guess, a C library
Oh so thaaaaats why they released .webp. The exploits were fixed in jpg, gif, png so they needed another attack surface.
If an intentional exploit by creators of webp and likely written in dbags++. Otherwise why create a terrible file format like that when there are already so many?
> then* likely written
correction
Same for jxl
I can open both formats and JXL is better in every single metric.
Have you tried the JPEGView fork? It's on GitHub, I use it as an alternative to Windows photo viewer because I love that you can zoom the images using the scroll wheel.
There is also FastStone Image View and irFanView.

This is the only reason I dislike .webp. I wish Hirohito would get off his lazy ass and add .webp support already.
Can you imagine the chaos that would have ensued if IQfy had WebP support when CVE-2023-4863 was made public? I'm glad that garbage isn't supported here.

Oh my reddit!
>can you imagine exploits existing?!
yes, plenty of vp8 and matroska exploits exist yet (You) happily consume WebMslop
Count how many WebMs were posted in this thread. (That's zero.) Now count how many images were posted in this thread. It's a lot worse for images to have an exploit than for videos to have them. I have WebM embedding disabled by default for security reasons, and videos in general have many measures taken against them by browsers and websites, but the abomination of a single-frame video that is WebP circumvents that.
I once got a three-day ban for posting the Noa on iPhone 'CSAM detected' picture with the reason being 'posting e-girl/shota outside of /b/'.
>n = 1
it was only a year ago anons were uploading AV1 webms that worked through a literal zero-day in webm demuxers
I'm not saying WebM is safe, because it isn't. At least that covers a use case not well covered by safer formats. But there is hardly a reason to switch to WebP when PNG and JPEG work fine.
Zero-day and/or zero-click? The only recent one I know of for WebM is the libvpx one related to the WebP exploit, and that's the first major exploit in a very long time. For Matroshka I haven't heard of any major exploits in ages.
The reason PDF sucks is because all the viewers are shit and the format has an absurdly oversized standard. Have you guys ever read the PDF format specification? It is something like 500 pages long. The DVD specification itself isn't half as big.
WebP sucks because all that 99.999% of websites do is recompress their existing content into WebP, including all their existing lossy coded images. It is a huge frick you to the image quality of the entire internet.
Granted, they also do that with JPG because Google Pagespeed warns them that using JPG over a certain encoding quality is bad. In fact IQfy itself does this because image recompression is a feature in Cloudflare to reduce bandwidth by making the images smaller.
>In fact IQfy itself does this because
Other than IQfy, IQfy does this to remove exif data that has gotten people killed, later it became efficient as well.
>Google Pagespeed warns them that using JPG over a certain encoding quality is bad
Google lies.
Webp has worse quality than JPG at same size.
Google is basically telling everyone to make their images worse with their trash video-codec based image format.
Everyone who uses webp is a sheep.
Which one? The things in the PDF long term is insane and reasonable at the same time.
My thesis got rejected because my idiot university was trying their best to deny my graduation. I told them to get fricked after my committee and supervisor said IEEE and they said APA was the uni requirement. They tried nitpicking about PDF standards claiming that hyperlinks were requires for the PDF/A standard. I told them to get fricked again. My prof mentioned he had to work with them on the future and to stop making a fuss.

We have daily webp hate threads.
WebP should not exist in like ever it is worse then PNG and degrades quality.
Also now it is all about AVIF meme shit.
Now back to hating PDFs
They're made so they can a remote exploit. If you have jpg remote exploit all of a sudden people are going to be like "heyy someone did that intentionally". But if you invent new.unecessary.image.format they are likely to say "oh its new they haven't worked out the bugs". But of course you would already be aware of the potential problems and the code should be secure from the start. I mean especially for something you are going to expect 99% of computer users to run on their machines right?
BASED schizo.
However in reality WebP -> AVIF -> Next meme format
Are only made up for 2 reasons
1) Soft DRM basically after you download the meme file you can not view it.
Most zoomers can not convert files or edit them in GIMP. So it is blocked form being re-uploaded.
However the time wasted for doing this or having the right plugin is also another barier.
2) Because mega corporation need more money.
Notice that the saving of 1% of space and transfer speeds only benefit mega corporations who have billions of pictures on their servers.
>mega corporations who have billions of pictures on their servers.
"Reeee we need more money even though we get government grants to maintain our infrastructure we need mooooar so lets reduce the size of thumbnails by 1% reee"

webm > gif. It's not perfect by any means, but it's a big improvement. Anyone using actual gif files in 2024 should be shot in front of their family.
It's massively overused. There are lots of things other formats are better for that PDFs get used for anyway.
I have literally never seen this.
I use APNG instead of GIF.
It's still crap compared to OGG.
At higher bitrates all the popular codecs are basically the same. There's nothing special about ogg vs mp3 for how most people use it.
>APNG
Even less support than WebP
Is fb2/3 better? Also PDF files suck for e-books because of hard-formating.
>fb2/3 better
Idk, never tried
>Also PDF files suck for e-books because of hard-formating
Hard-formatting is good because it makes sure the book looks the same on all screens. Epub morons never manage to display the HTML correctly with different screen sizes and fonts, shit breaks up. Epub coding books suffer from this a lot, often the code snippets are an utter mess.
>Epub coding books suffer from this a lot, often the code snippets are an utter mess.
Huh, that is part of the learning curve.
What do you think about dvju?
Ogg is a container, you're thinking of Vorbis and Opus. You could even have MP3 .ogg files if you wanted.
>There are lots of things other formats are better for that PDFs get used for anyway
If it's used far and wider clearly it IS good format after all. You call it bad simply because it's popular.
You've clearly never heard the expression, "jack of all trades, master of none"
>jack of all trades, master of none, is better than a master of one.
Clearly you haven't heard the whole quote
>is better than
Except to those who the one is needed.
So, in your mind, everything should be restricted to single specific use? This is just useless for majority of users and situations.
No, in my mind, a master of something people need is better than someone who, although can do a whole bunch, isn't a master at the thing required.
Philosophy is not a science. It is opinion shared, so it is like a box of buttholes, that fix over all our heads. Some fit more snugly, those would be the master buttholes.
The quote should have been "jack of all trades, not master of this one". It is clearly a brainlet expression of envy flung against someone who is greatly skilled in multiple disciplines.
Most often I've seen ire come from someone whose dad or mommy said "You cant do that" "thats too hard" "you can only do one thing its not poss--{bbleh bleh bleh bleh}" and then there you are playing piano like Mozart, writing screenplays, changing engines in cars, blacksmithing swords and serving up top notch homemade ice cream for guests.

File formats should be.
>jack of all trades, master of none, is better than a master of one.
That quote is 99% or more times used by those who are envious of polymaths. Usually they say it as a psychological monkey-wrench to undermine your value and next breath they want your help for FREE or a discount and often will call you for help hopefully for less or for FREE or a discount.
From experience and observation it is very much possible to utterly master multiple trades. Consider, the talented composer Borodin was a chemist and a composer.
The typical brainlet envies polymaths. No polymath says "Jack of all trades master of none" and/or leaves off the other part.
I am aware of the incredible ability of human creatures.
>If it's used far and wider clearly it IS good format after all.
And if you actually believe that you're completely moronic.
>nooo, everything must be highly specialized tool, all according to my Linux philosophy!
Your argument is less popular therefore by your own logic you're wrong.

ZIP. Anything really still using the DEFLATE compression algorithm. Forgot it's name but it's some ultra niche possibly CLI only file compression format specifically for macOS.
Linux is not a file format.
Past bitrate accommodating 24KHz waveforms and more channels for stereo or surround, there's not much point in differentiating between different audio file formats.
This literally means that you shouldn't have a program that achieves a purpose and have irrelevant functionality built in. Like a CLI tool that helps manipulate your disk AND lets drops you into a text prompt allowing you to draw vector art. As part of that philosophy, these two functions should be split into their own respective tools to be invoked and maintained separately.
This has mostly been dead since the Web and multimedia revolution of the 90's. Since then, a single focused program can have multiple different functionalities combined together and still work. For example, video player is not too much different from one that can play audio or just plainly showing a picture.
>For example, video player is not too much different from one that can play audio or just plainly showing a picture.
A video player should handle only the rendering. Decoding the various streams it uses as input should be delegated to dedicated libraries for that functionality. That's proper implementation of 'do one thing and do it well'. Showing a picture is a good example of how not going with this philosophy can lead to bad results. A video player should never focus on showing pictures, as that would necessitate the addition of highly-demanded image viewer functionality, like pressing left/right/some other hotkey to move to the next image. When watching a video, I don't want any single key to change the loaded stream or otherwise lose my video position. The more image viewer elements you add to your video player, the more the video player aspect is negatively affected. And this is from an end-user perspective; on the development side it results in excessive unnecessary dependencies and complicates maintenance. Stick to the one thing your program is made for, and delegate everything else to other programs that do it better. Even if you have to code those other things yourself, split them off into entirely separate components to prevent the aforementioned issues.
whats the alternative
Could be epub.. Remembered reading this somewhere
https://willcrichton.net/notes/portable-epubs/
And what's the actual problem with PDF? It does the job of converting presentations or text files into format that can be open elsewhere without worry that formatting will change. Go ahead, I'm listening.
>And what's the actual problem with PDF?
PDFs are what you get when boomers can't be bothered to use anything else. So PDFs become a format for images, forms, documents, drawings, etc. There is a lot of functionality that can only be used with abode's software. I had to borrow my sisters computer to submit a government form with abode. There was a button in the PDF that submitted the form. How far away from the concept of "digital paper" is that?
I think a modified epub format could work as a simplified "digital paper".
>I think a modified epub format could work as a simplified "digital paper".
HTML as a standard is ready to be print-ready digital paper.
The only thing stopping it is that browser developers are stalling on implementing the parts of the HTML standard that only apply to printing.
Seriously, there are non-browser implementations of HTML renderers that actually implement all the print format features. Publishers can literally do the layout for a book in a web-first format, and then use these tools to create the print version.
It just hasn't penetrated the consumer web browsers yet, and may not ever.
>Seriously, there are non-browser implementations of HTML renderers that actually implement all the print format features.
like what? I'd like to see it
PrinceXML is the dominant one in that market space, but it's closed source.
I've wanted to adopt HTML for legal contract formatting at work (create an on-rails WYSIWYG HTML editor that enforces our in-house stylistic conventions), but the thing that is hard-stopping the project is that without proper browser support for the full printing feature set of the HTML spec, we can't guarantee an externally printed copy looks identical to an internally printed copy.
> I had to borrow my sisters computer to submit a government form with abode
Do you also have to borrow her vibrator?
Presuming who was the borrower and who was the lender! The prejudice!
It's fine, even excellent, when it comes to having a document that looks the same no matter what you view it on.
My issues start with the extra features like forms, drop down boxes, editable pdfs, multi layered PDFs etc. Encrypted PDFs are great feature thoughever.
Also Adobe acrobat is way too heavy on resources for a PDF viewer.
Oh and get this: Adobe Reader has become so bloated that it has a special "Reading" mode!

PDF is a good format compared to google's bullshit.
Increasingly more servers just fricking ignore http accept headers and serve image/webp even when the browser does not accept it.
When did it all go so wrong?
YAML, not even close. PDF at least partially works.
How the frick does YAML not work
YAML becomes very painful to use beyond super basic things cause parsers support a very loose set of custom features, the Python ones in particular break not so rarely.

There isn't an imageboard where over 90% of its userbase are newbies. Post-2010 newbies on imageboards are often underage and extremely moronic to the point of not knowing how to lurk or understand basic stuff. The type of person who gets banned on Twitter/Facebook/Reddit for using well-known slurs instead of euphemism e.g. woke instead of black, etc.
This is all by design too.
Mods and feds want the dumbest demographic on the internet to use IQfy to easier track them and brainwash them which also makes them more money.
These newbies are the only ones who are dumb enough to think Reddit spacing isn't a hoax, buy a IQfy pass or not understand how to block ads after seeing people talk about it. Also, they've no idea what an archive is. Mods hate archives. These newbies are the model user of mods.
You have your evidence right in front of you that IQfy is swarmed by these newbies.
Despite the existence of archives, they will break down in rage if you say Reddit spacing is a myth. It was invented in 2012 by a phoneposter to get them to type like morons so he can scroll less. Mods and feds endorsed the myth in 2016 after seeing its success because it makes them more money (reduces server load, saves more paper, space, etc).
Rarely does anyone get called out for saying "normie", "nta" or "reddit spacing".
Every thread is a general and most generals are intended purely for consumerism. Old IQfy didn't consume, they tried to make the most out of old threads. To make this point clearer, check the desktop threads, new and old.
>single-line paragraphs
If not Reddit spacing, then at least it's moron spacing.
Zoom some more Zoomie
I have no issues with properly dividing text in paragraphs as for example
does. In fact, it improves readability if done well. But
's second "paragraph" isn't a new paragraph, it's a single sentence that only makes sense as part of the preceding paragraph and doesn't introduce any change in subject or focus. It would've made much more sense as the closing sentence of the first paragraph, which is now left hanging without any proper conclusion.
Now, when you start talking about something new or focus on a different point, THAT's when you switch to a new paragraph. Paragraphs group related sections of text together, allowing the reader to more easily distinguish different subjects or arguments. This paragraph is about the proper construction of paragraphs, in contrast to the previous one, which is about improper construction of paragraphs. The empty newline serves as separator between the sections.
But if you add a newline after every sentence or every other sentence, that's not a paragraph.
At that point, you're probably doing it out of habit.
For example, a habit formed by Reddit where you need to newline twice to write a single newline.
That's why they call it Reddit spacing.
Wanna truly improve readability? Force text wrapping and fix the moronation of how IQfy displays posts.
div.post blockquote.postMessage, div.post.op, div.postcontainer {
max-width: 60ch;
}
That is wonderful. Thank you for sharing. I chose 80 characters because IQfy, and it still looks great. The only reason I can think of as to why I hadn't done it before is because in my time here, the majority of posts looked like this:
>fix the moronation
>on IQfy
ishygddt
Thank you, again.
No problem. It's greatly improved my experience and makes reading much, much easier.
I always hated how long posts would get and it's very tiring to read them. It's really bad for your eyes.
You can survive without paragraphs but now without this.
It works on other chans too but you need to adjust the css slightly for them.
This worked great, thanks. But "postcontainer" should be "postContainer" or else only the post message will wrap.
thanks for the tip
I'm tired and I can't tell any difference between the 2 options aside from the fact that if a post is quoted many times, postcontainer let's it grow in width while postContainer keeps it narrow like pic rel
Yeah, that's the difference. I want them to stay in a column like that. And I assume the original post did too, because the reason there's a difference is that "postcontainer" is a typo that forgot to capitalize "postContainer", and thus has no effect. You can remove it or leave it spelled wrong if you don't care about the quotes pushing it out to the side.
I made the original css post. Good point, you're right, I wanted to do that initially but I think I tried to remove it or edited it, misspelled it and forgot about it after a few get threads where posts were unreadable. I only care about the text itself being readable, not necessarily about the overall aesthetics.

Moot has always been a normalgay, but other than the very start of IQfy (where everyone posted in a moronic manner) he used to post properly. He was probably already disillusioned with IQfy by 2009. The post-2014 posts aren't even worth responding about.
Maybe with the new interface, but the old interface let you put newlines in the text box but then just ignored the newline and appended the text onto the previous line.

>anime & manga
Imagine living at a time you didn't need a separate board for anime and one for manga.
Back in 2003, almost all non-original anime was adapted from manga, so if you were discussing one you were likely discussing the other as well. By the time of the split, VNs and light novels were regularly getting adaptations, but most VN discussion (and what little LN discussion there was) was unrelated to anime, so it got kicked off. Nowadays most anime is adapted from LNs and manga is more of a separate thing.
Ah yes telling the public that you're a gay crossdresser before 2010 and making IQfy to post child porn because SA wouldn't let you is what normalgays do
You're such an "oldgay"
The guy was 15 when he founded the site. Every normalgay does dumb shit when they're young. By 2010 he was getting triggered by e-girl. The man went on to build up a normalgay existence, getting cucked while simping for some roastie and working at Google.
There was no incentive for him to say why he made IQfy or what his sexuality and hobby are between 2005-2009.
The reason he cracked down on that type of child porn was because of money.
/l/ got axed in 2004.
No, it was merged with every board
I like this interpretation, but the mods do not.
Yes they do. Your posts aren't getting deleted
I'm quite surprised. I fully expected a three-day vacation within an hour for
(I've been banned for less), but it wasn't even deleted (not even the image). I think the janitor who's super allergic to anything remotely e-girl isn't active right now and I'll probably get a whole bunch of three-day bans for posting stuff like pic related when he does come back.
Ah yes, redditors would never joke about such matters.

Bullshit.
Reddit creates an empty line between texts if you press enter once.
That's why so many posts on IQfy look like this.
There are five reasons why soneone types like this.
You think that Reddit and IQfy use the same text editor.
This is what you do if you're a stupid little shit who grew up on Reddit.

Word has an option to turn off compression of images (annoying feature). If you don't turn that off the images will drop in quality.
Also that you have to make sure thumbnails are embedded or else it won't in some versions.
I've found that it helps to avoid putting high DPI images in a Word document that are very large because that could possibly make it run slow if you have many of them.
A program like Faststone or Photoshop can be used to reduce size or resolution IIRC.
imagine getting students to collectively waste lifetimes formatting documents with a proprietary word processor when all that really matters is the content.
unless you're submitting it to some journal there should be no formatting. can you imagine the lifetimes that have been wasted getting the formatting just write for some bullshit assignment worth 5% of your grade in a single class? it should be criminal.

You create one template in Word and use it forever
>what do you mean "formatting"?
This is what I'm getting at. You don't even know you're doing it. thousands of years of life have been wasted on it. sacrificed to academia.
>You create one template in Word and use it forever
yeah, people definitely do that.
>wasted
what do you mean wasted?
It takes you 15 minutes to set up the standardized format of your countries academia norm.
are you moronic?
you must be autistic because you can't even imagine what the average normie is doing, or what professors are making them do.
even if it takes 15 minutes it's too much.
that's why I've taken to writing everything in markdown. shit simple easy as balls and using pandoc you can easily convert it.

Formatting helps readability. For most texts there are more readers than writers. The extra time expenditure for the writer is compensated by saving the reader's time.
>The extra time expenditure for the writer is compensated by saving the reader's time.
>The extra work expenditure for the worker is compensated by saving the owner's time
lol
Yes? That's literally why your boss hires you. His time is worth more than yours.
>Yes?
>his time is worth more
Subjective, you uguu kawaii posting no nose loving homosexual. Also, your use of the word compensated shows how stupid you are. Get a job, moran.
His usage is correct and he made a good point, wagefilth. Get a brain.
based anime appreciator!
>His usage is correct and he made a good point, wagefilth. Get a brain.
How is the writer compensated for the extra time? What imaginative explanation are you able to supply for their ignorance to be subjectively justified?
>Get a brain.
It's get a brian, pal.
Zoomies who failed third grade arguing with each other lol
>expenditure for x is compensated by y
>expenditure for x is counteracted by y
>counteracted
Totally perfect usage. Shut the frick up, you illiterate wagefilth. We NEETchads have enough free time to actually be knowledgeable about what we're talking about.
That isn't an explanation. That is the definition of the word you and the other homosexual failed to use properly.
Some one wastes their time. That is it. It doesn't matter if the other person saved a dime or minute, they still wasted their time. Their time is not compensated, nor is the wasting counteracted.
I was NEET before your dad, still buying those cigarettes I am sure, slapped your prostitute of a mother with his MEAT.
Look. Consider the following situation: In an organization, four workers need to eat, but the office manager always skips lunch. The four workers could individually go out and buy their own lunch, which wastes X times * 4 workers. Alternatively, the office manager could go and get lunch for all of them, costing only X * 1 time. The office manager doesn't personally benefit from this as the office manager skips lunch. From the viewpoint of the organization, which of the two options is a bigger waste of time?
When I write an e-mail to my team, I spend some time formatting it for clarity. I only have to write it once so I can spare some extra effort to make it more readable, as that message then has to be read by several people individually. If five minutes of effort saves one minute of effort for 10 people, that's a 50% time savings. I even go through the trouble of putting some effort into my IQfy posts because I know there's a lot of people who will read them.
I can read IQfy posts just fine and there is no real formatting (besides your custom IQfyx scripts). in fact the spergs here will complain when you separate paragraphs.
a .txt document read with a viewer than can enable word wrapping is perfectly readable.
NTA either but latex exists and is easier to use for STEM than word docx.
>Latex
>Easy
I'm not going to learn programming language just to write some texts you delusional frick.
Instead you'd rather learn the hundreds of key combinations and button presses, no?
Unironically skill issue. Brainlets and women need to be filtered out of research work anyway.
havent opened a pdf since 2004 cos of exploits
A lot of people hate pdf files for no good reason.
TToTT
Who knows? It's a compact and portable format.
PDF = PEDOFILES
They're great except for potential of viruses, trojans and 0-day exploits (less likely if javascript is disabled). Nice to have a proper typset book rather than a chameleon .epub sometimes.
DWG
proprietary shit
RMVB
>real media was garbage
ASF
>microsoft garbage
ACE
>short-lived turn-of-the-millenium crappy compressor
MIDI
>theoretically universal yet may sound different between synthesizer
AVI
>formerly supported myriad of shitty codecs which had to download while pirating
3GP
>format of choice for third world porn with stunning 176x144 resolution at 12 fps recorded on 30$ chink/nokia phone
MP4/MPEG-4
>solely for reason of being 30+ part behemoth with features that nobody fricking cares about and supporting 5000 codecs
any LZMA related format
>fricking autists using highest preset just to save 0.69% space and slow down decompression by 2/3rds
MPEG-1/h.261
>utter shit quality even when released
AC-3
>shit bitrate, virtually abandoned
AC-4
>cool features for broadcasting, proprietary, no authoring tools exist
MPEG-H
>current Fraunhofer pet project, probably will be patented like frick if isn't already
JPEG-XL
>shilled as the apex raster graphic formats, and it's fricking annoying
XML
>most verbose garbage format ever conceived by humankind
>MIDI
Is there any better alternative, though? As audio format for listening it's not good, but what universal alternative exists for sharing the composition itself?
No MIDI does the job it was intended for, that anon made one mistake in his list
>DWG
>proprietary shit
Literally industry standard. Literally everything is capable of opening .dwg files
>ACE
>MPEG-1
Is it even worth mentioning ancient formats that are completely irrelevant today?
>MP4/MPEG-4
for reason of being 30+ part behemoth with features that nobody fricking cares about and supporting 5000 codecs
Doesn't MP4 support less codecs than MKV?
>MP4
>5000 codecs
well, of course, it's a fricking CONTAINER
complain about H.264 / MPEG4-AVC, which is the most usual CODEC used in MP4 files.
>any LZMA related format
>using highest preset just to save 0.69%
LZMA can't work on random data like media already compressed by a media codec like H.264. If you give LZMA a WAV, a TIFF, heck, even a non-debayered DNG, it compresses between 20% and 40% (especially if it's frame-aware and does interframe compression)
>MPEG-1/h.261
>utter shit quality even when released
but when proposed and developed, you needed mainframe power to compress and minicomputer power to decompress. Then it took almost a decade to get ASIC hardware for it.
AC-3
>shit bitrate, virtually abandoned
you can choose whatever bitrate you want, anon; and it's more efficient than MP3 (MPEG1 Layer3) at the same bitrate.
Same as MPEG1 - decoding AC3 when it was state-of-the-art (1992) demanded a Zoran DSP card made by Dolby (and the decoders had 2 cards because at 24 frames per second the processing of each frame took too long, so they had to be interleaved).
>XML
>most verbose
always designed to be machine writable and human readable, but human-writeable in an emergency. Meanwhile a single extra whitespace breaks both JSON and YAML.
>Meanwhile a single extra whitespace breaks both JSON and YAML.
A trailing array comma does, but extra whitespace doesn't.
while, yes it's impressive what was achieved 35 years ago.
i seriously don't give frick about them rn since they suck ass
>MPEG-1/h.261
Was great for its time.
>JPEG-XL
Literally the best image format.
>MIDI
universal yet may sound different between synthesizer
Black person that's synthesissy issues
>30+ part behemoth with features that nobody fricking cares about
Now I'm interested to know what this even is.
I like pdf.
What I hate is webp.
is that a Pedo Hei reference
webp
.txt
What is wrong with pdf? In my 29 years of age pdfs have given me 0 shit and always worked as expected
Boomers and government agencies using PDF for data/tables when xlsx or csv makes much more sense. Results in having to tediously copy everything.
>so that readers gain something.
That isn't the case, though. The reader also wastes their time reading, take your tripe for instance.
>explanation
>really I just screenshot the definition
There is no compensating was the point that you failed to grasp because I didn't waste my time making it easier for you to understand basic functions like loss and gain, amirite?
hurr durr IQfy -guro
Welcome to IQfy, enjoy your stay, fricking idiot homosexual.
Low IQ, weak troll and now you're seething
I accept the fact you can refute, and your b***h cop out garbage posts are not surprising to me. If you were fed more tendies, maybe you wouldn't be so full of hate.
Stay mad, shitskin. You're too stupid to troll.
get back the frick off, call troll, many such cases.
I hope your blissful euphoria lasts
To put it more politely, you're wrong and moronic. I'm not here to waste my time teaching basic English to shitskins, Sukdeep.
Is that because their is no compensation?

lol
I'm not even the anon(s) you replied to originally but you're still wrong. If you can't accept that words have more than one meaning then this conversation is pointless and I won't bother, shitskin.
>nta
>shitskin
>hurr durr IQfy -guro
>Welcome to IQfy, enjoy your stay, fricking idiot homosexual.
Are you okay, anon? There's no need to get upset over posts on the internet.
Everything that simulate paper inside a fricking computer screen is boomer garbage.
What is the point of use pages of paper as a default if you are not going to print it out?
PDF is good the king of layout
I like .cbz/.cbr. Wish .cb7 were more adopted.
And also .jxl support for all.
Could probably squash comic book collection down by 50% losslessly.
Considering how slow some image formats, optimised for speed, run compared to pdf, it's not actually that bad.
But that doesn't mean it's perfect.
avif
Can't wait for you zoomerc**ts to invent something better. Everyone complaining in this thread can go frick himself with a cucumber.
Epub
What don't you like about Epub? I prefer it when I download books.
It's literally just a wrapper for html so it shares all the bad things of html like messed up formatting. Also sometimes it's divided in multiple html files and the index gets fricked. It would've been better if it were just an HTML file so I could have just opened it using any web browser, but it's shit.
PDFs are way better for books:
>correct formatting guaranteed
>even if the links don't work can just go to the page number from the index page
>highlighting lines is saved to the file itself not the cache of some epub reader so that you can see what you've highlighted if you open the file from another device
I might have conflated file size with quality but more like I prefer light small files if I am going to download and not read them.
Downloading a .txt file or some markdown would have been better

All of MS Office formats
The Portable Document Format (PDF) is a widely used file format known for preserving the layout and formatting of documents across different platforms and devices. It’s favored for its reliability and consistency, especially for official documents, forms, and publications. However, some users may find it less flexible compared to other formats when it comes to editing or extracting information. Ultimately, the choice of format depends on the specific needs and preferences of each user.
btw i’m trans and i’ve made all the above posts about reddit spacing. sorry!
>Tfw mother paid a website $20 to edit her resume because she only had a pdf
How is this like this? Is the tech required to edit these things licensed out or something?
You can use GIMP.
What's the easiest way to crop a pdf offline and for free?
Convert to JPG -> crop with paint -> convert back to PDF
pdfcpu
see https://pdfcpu.io/core/crop
Huh, this is actually pretty nice. I can imagine building a nice GUI on top of that for batch operations.
.PSD
https://github.com/gco/xee/blob/master/XeePhotoshopLoader.m#L108
PSD is only used for sharing data across Photoshop sessions, right? I don't think it's fair to compare project files only intended to be read by the software that generated it with general use file formats.
Ever since I've started to read scanned books I've disliked how proprietary the PDF editing space is. For example when I come across some book that's scanned as spreads, all of them are sideways, and there's no table of contents, I feel like pic related. I really don't want to cash out for ABBYY FineReader either, nor do I trust it to have any clean warez. There's few free options for different tasks like Scantailor, HandyOutliner, Tesseract GUI's, but I've yet to find a nice workflow with these.
>There's few free options for different tasks like Scantailor, HandyOutliner, Tesseract GUI's, but I've yet to find a nice workflow with these.
bump
it's called (k)epub
thanks
.ivf
Used exclusively by VPx/AV1 slop encoders, they should just output a raw bitstream instead.
Anything Microsoft, word exl etc.
Wait till you see the EU tax-law mandated invoice format that is going to hit us soon. I don'T even want to think about the incoming shitshow

There's nothing wrong with PDF. Did you know that its turing complete? Just don't be moronic and download PDFs from random untrusted sites or emails
Baking execution possibilites into a format intended to render standardized static views sure is genius.
HTML + CSS are also turing complete. There's actually a long history of incorporating key loggers into CSS. At least PDFs look nice
>HTML5 + CSS3
ftfy
>Every modern browser supports two turing complete languages
I don't get your point.
>I don't get your point.
Sounds like a personal problem.
people did used to type like this
with like one sentence per line
but they also
used to type like this
the truth is that you didnt spot someone who was an outsider by the way they typed, you'd spot them based on their lack of meme knowledge or them getting offended by shit
now everyone knows the memes, people come here expecting to be offended, and you don't have anything else you can point to to label someone an outsider
so the easiest thing you can do is attack the way someone formats their post, and the double new line thing comes from reddit
it's a terrible and inaccurate way to determine if someone is a newbie
>you'd spot the based on . . . them getting offended by _shit_
>people come here expecting to be offended
>now . . . you don't have anything . . . to to label someone an outsider
Do outsiders offended you? You just might be one. lol
i don't care much now but there was definitely a time when i'd post gb2/gaia/ 50 times a day
I almost miss gaiagays. They were positively cute compared to the current generation of xitter homosexuals.
>now everyone knows the memes, people come here expecting to be offended, and you don't have anything else you can point to to label someone an outsider
You can still chase away outsiders with e-girl.
>>Name a worse format
: you can't
PDFs are literally hell on earth.
Daily reminder that PDF stands for
PRINTABLE document format (regardless what censorship and revisionism Adobe uses) this shit was made to be PRINTED by a printer so you read it on paper.
It is fricked up and often simply copy and past does not work for text.
>It is fricked up and often simply copy and past does not work for text.
That's because you were moronic and saved it as an image. If the baby ducks itt have trouble with PDFs, I'd love to see how much you'd struggle with professional typesetting applications.
>made to be PRINTED by a printer so you read it on paper.
Thats means it is more than likely professionally typeset and that one can dependably refer to fixed page numbers for reference purposes.
.exe
parsing this piece of shit is the absolute bane of my existence
i have purchased iphones just to do OCR for it
