I can't wait for kendrick to respond. besides 2014 forest hills and some of the radio hits on the first two albums, every single Cole project is 1000x more boring
You didn't even mention his best album. Why do you guys pretend to listen to rap music? It's embarrassing. Everyone agrees born sinner is his best so far. Which is better than every single Kendrick project.
if you actually knew hip hop you'd know born sinner is completely derivative, starting with the title. Cole is just like Logic, a hip hop head. the good beats are cribbed from classic songs. I like Power Trip, Trouble, and She Knows tho.
don't actual rap fans hate that album though? It's like a pop-ish hiphop album. Is it not a response to all the rap old heads who hated Work out? Like nas? lol
Stop. Kendrick's worst album would be J Cole's best if he made it.
Pseudointellectualism even though they're racist. Unable to formulate their own tasted or ideas to not get pigeonholed into shit like this though.
Wesley's theory is the top 10 greatest rap song ever
not music
get a life
get a brain
You're a homosexual wiggee
you homosexuals are so annoying. your board is flooded with the most manufactured braindead music KPOP and you still have this mindset
He's an insecure /misc/cel
Use the filter, dumbass.
first post, best post
When only white people listen to a rap album it's pretty telling. Sorry bro. This album is a political agenda driven piece of garbage. Gg tho
>4 albums in 12 years homie? I can divide
Referencing Jay Z takeover? That means Ether is coming. You better watch out MR. J Coal
Kendrick doesn't even have it in him he's too busy making white girls say homie. Which btw I frick black girls and do slave play I'm based as frick.
Who gives a frick about your album per year rate?
I'd rather wait 5 years for a good one then listen to Drake's slop or J Cole's lullabies they shit out every year
OK Mr "Kendrick please give me more slave play!!"
You're a white guy who wishes he was black and couldn't write a 16 to save his mother's life. Admit it.
I'm a white European in a 99% white country, I've never talked to a black person, have any particular thoughts about USA's fricked up race relations or tried to write a rap verse myself.
I really just think Kendrick makes much better music than the other two
Why would I care about anything you have to say about rap music
Why would I care about anything you have to say about rap music?
Very big "I know what I am but what are you" vibes. You rock guys are pretty darn smart I'll tell you that.
He cooked you lil bro
NTA but frick you Black folk for always trying to gatekeep rap from other races.
Africans are the most racist people on this planet but all of their bad behaviour gets excused because of the myth that all white people in America owned slaves back in the day.
except has like 1 good album. good kid maad city.
That'd still be one more good album than Drake and JCole put together
>When only white people listen to a rap album it's pretty telling.
It means it's great because white people have better taste.
And also Cole and Drake's fanbases are primarily white/latino, just not to the same extent as Kendrick's fanbase.
Blacks listen to trap slop like Future, Gucci Mane, Migos (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/08/07/upshot/music-fandom-maps.html)
Blacks love Kendrick lol. "Trap slop" is cooler in the hood. I actually prefer "trap slop" at this point, I'm not interested in deep meanings from street poets at this point in my life
The same blacks who listen to Kendrick cosplay as Naruto and own turtles.
>The man who made 2014 forest hills drive calls someone else boring
This is the funniest beef ever. I can't wait for Kendrick to annihilate this homie. End his frickin career
White people have better taste in rap than black people apparently lmao.
Suburban white kids that have never experienced struggle a day in their life trying to act like authorities on hip hop will never stop being funny to me. TPAB is gay poser shit that only black weebs and upper middle class white kids care about.
You guys need to go back to twitter or instagram or tiktok unironically
Worked
The diss was so bad people don't even know what fricking albums he's talking about.
Here's the bars:
>Your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic
>Your second shit put homies to sleep, but they gassed it
>Your third shit was massive and that was your prime
Unless for some reason he's saying Section.80, an album J.Cole produced for and wanted to sign Kendrick before it dropped, doesn't count, he's saying;
>Section.80 is a classic
>Good Kid Madd City is boring
>To Pimp a Butterfly was massive and Kendrick's prime
>Mr. Morale was awful
Either way it doesn't make any fricking sense.
The Jay-Z line works because everyone knows what albums he was dissing Nas about, and the public consensus matched what he was saying
>Four albums in ten years, homie? I could divide
>That's one every, let's say two, two of them shits was doo
>One was eeeeh, the other was Illmatic
>That's a one hot album every ten year average
The fact that no one knows if he's calling GKMC or TPAB boring and if he's calling TPAB or DAMN a classic, just shows J.Cole can't fricking diss.
If J Cole is calling Damn a classic he deserves to have Kendrick literally defecate on him. That album is so fricking bad.
it IS boring tho
and it's not of the greatest albums because it is so boring
it's the most boring album that people call "great"
it was a chore to listen to
music is supposed to be entertaining too, remember?
there's no fun or entertainment value at all on this whole album. not one catchy song or even one memorable hook
there's spoken word albums that are more engaging and compelling
This isn't true. It was incredibly exciting at the time. I don't listen to it anymore because Im not as depressed like I was when I did and in general Ive moved away from hip hop
hopefully Cole will delete it like he said he might
it doesn't really have crossover appeal outside of hip hop despite the media hype claiming otherwise
"People who don't watch this show ever won't understand this episode" do you even hear yourself? This website needs to be locked to America only.
not what i said. the hype was this was more than just another rap album. look at the op, "one of the greatest albums in the history of mankind"
that's the kind of shit pitchfork and RyM were saying too and it has no basis in reality.
it's a better than average rap album, that's it. it shouldn't be on any serious list of greatest albums
It's not even a good rap album. It's race bait for white people.
On the contrary, all of the americas need to be rangebanned
JAZZ appeal, and certain kind of white thinks JAZZ is SOPHISTICATED... that's why it won the pulitzer
that was overblown. there was very little jazz, too little for my liking. i wouldn't call it jazz nor i would i recommend it to jazz fans.
that was just a way to drum up interest to non rap listeners
that was why i listened to it in the first place and i wasn't impressed with it at all
It didn't win a pulitzer
yeah and yet they never gave actual jazz a pulitzer. or blues. or metal. or rock. or pop. just rap, the least sophisticated genre
Rap is more informationally dense, precisely because (as they say of IQfy) its not music
Oh wow nvm that was DAMN
>that's why it won the pulitzer
That was a pity award given to Damn to make themselves seem "hip". Just looking at the music they typically award makes it clear
Anyone who says Black people don't listen to Kendrick don't live in L.A.
albums in other genres in the 21st century don't get the hype or acclaim that rap albums will get for whatever reason
you never see critics suck off a rock or pop album the way they did TPAB or Damn
Rock got that treatment in the 60s and 70s. TPAB is newer, so it's recency bias. Also with poptimism certain pop records are getting hailed the same way.
I can't wait until you old "I smooe my schwag in the garage after mom goes to bed" rock homosexuals to die. You seriously are a waste of space.
The critical praise lavished on TPAB is nothing more than the bigotry of low expectations.
Critics would never admit it, but they recognize deep down that rap is at best a degenerated form of music, and at worst not music at all. This is proven by the way they creamed themselves over the parts of TPAB where something halfway musical peeks through, such as its perfunctory jazz, or rehashed funk.
None of this would be impressive on its own, but it becomes a major act of innovation when affixed to a musical genre widely (though secretly) assumed to be artistically and intellectually bankrupt.
If Miley Cyrus had stuck a sax solo on one of her songs, does anyone think critics would lose their minds over her genius genre-bending? Of course not - it's only impressive when it's done in rap, because they know intuitively that rap is degenerate, savage, and idiotic, and it is thus held it to a lower standard.
White critics should admit to themselves they don't actually like rap - they just like feeling anti-racist and socially conscious - and that this is the real reason they get so excited when a rap artist does something that makes their music sound less like rap.
This doesn't make the rapper a genius, it just means the critic should give up their rap fixation and listen to jazz or rock or whatever, since that's clearly what they prefer.
Jazz is boring. TPAB takes jazz elements are brings them to a high intensity which is appealing to a non-jazz fan listener, and allow them to complement energetic rap performance of kendrick as he fights depression and takes responsibility for his people and culture. If shit hit the fan, is you still a fan? If shit hit the fan, is you still a fan? That homie gave us billy jean you say he touched those kids? If shit hit the fan, is you still a fan?
Did you and Kendrick ever frick?
>takes responsibility for his people and culture
Lol, Kendrick doesn't "take responsibility" for his people and culture. He defers responsibility, choosing to blame the white man.
>If shit hit the fan, is you still a fan? If shit hit the fan, is you still a fan? That homie gave us billy jean you say he touched those kids? If shit hit the fan, is you still a fan?
Piss poor grammar, mind-numbing repetition, morally bankrupt message. I don't know how anyone without brain damage listens to this garbage without wanting to shoot themselves in the head.
the theme of the album is "how racist American institutions upheld by white supremacy exploit Black creators for profit"
that and it's ok that mj molested kids because thriller allegedly (according to Sony) sold however many copies they claim it sold
which should tell you something about lamar's own sense of entitlement
he probably shares jackson's predilections
Cope and seethe more. Just admit you were completely filtered by one of the most heartfelt works of art of the 2010s. It must be hell living in the world and having to see everything through the prism of politics. Screaming like girls whenever you rub against anything that doesn't comport with your Ben Shapiro taking point politics.
I pity you, I really do. You need God
This song sounds like being positioned equidistant between a street musician playing saxophone and a homeless schizophrenic person having a meltdown.
Not an enjoyable experience IRL, not enjoyable as music.
it's all fun and games until they're all around you and you live in south africa
southerners don't imitate gang culture, people who live in gated communities do for that exact reason lmao
You and OP and the rest of the newbies on here are the reason I don't come this bs anymore.
Deathgrips and the melon really did a number on this place.
micheal jackson didn't rape kids though
it's for white people who hate white people
the album is about defending black criminals like wesley snipes and michael jackson and suggesting they should get a free pass because they're black
tf do you mean suggest
that's already a thing in new york and california
did you try completing your quota of punching white women this month?
it's (systemically) racist if you dare hold black criminals accountable for their actions
Which lines exactly defend Wesley Snipes? The lyrics describe a situation of uneducated blacks getting way too much money way too quickly and bankrupting themselves because they don't know shit about finances, it doesn't condemn or defend tax cheats
>l one of the greatest albums in the history of mankind
>TPAB
it was alright for the time
now it's kinda ehhhhhhh
When DAMN came out I was still surprised so many people (online) tried to claim it was worse than TPAB. DAMN clears it easy.
He's right, this album is only liked by zoomers with white guilt (aka RYM user and melonhead fans)
Millenials*
I hate how people use themselves associated with their own beliefs instead of what they are. Zoomers were like 2 years old when this came our you fricking moron
Oldest were 15.
Gen Z started in '96/'97 dude. TPAB is music made to brainwash their generation, millenials were already like 30 at that point and don't care for this BLM shit.
spineless self-loathing whites make me sick
That's because you see yourself in them. Some white people aren't so insecure that they can't appreciate black contributes to the arts, even if certain political aspects are silly
I can appreciate black art just fine when they don't make a big deal about them being black
white artists don't feel the need to remind you that they're white on every track
You'll never be a homie. Your just a pasty white American, a boring unathletic cracker, too inhibited to be cool, too straight laced to really live life.
If you were a homie you would be proud of it and would never get tired of announcing the fact. "Every homie is a star" you would sing, expressing the deep happiness of your heart. And you would be part of something special and you would be happy. But as you are now, you are even afraid to say homie. You've been conditioned by mediocre white society to fear the very word homie
But because you are not a homie you will never forgive yourself--and will take that rage out on the black community.
I'm proud to be White. Every Great White is a star.
But notice how awkward it sounds saying that. Face the facst, its much cooler to be a homie in the 21st century. All normies intuitively grasp this. You become a IQfy wignat only before a long childhood phase of wishing you would rap and play ball like the homies. It's all cope. Your only hope is the societal acceptance of trans-racial surgery
lol the 21st century Black person is a israelite buck broke homosexual.
its another "woe is me" album
i like how it's still supposedly so much harder to be black than white even in 2015
it sucks being black yet they go on so much about "black excellence"
It's disingenuous garbage that's why nobody takes the albums seriously aside from morons with white guilt. Oh no the rich and successful actor rightfully spent time in prison for tax evasion and it was a racist character assassination that happened to MJ just ignore all the weird comments that came out of his own mouth and the ridiculous amounts of circumstantial evidence. Kendrick is nothing but a rich homosexual that has to move the goal post because the amount of success he experienced doesn't fit with his victimhood worldview.
>greatest album in history of mankind
RYM white boy moment
TWD (Total Wigger Death)
>greatest albums in the history of mankind
Lmao what. It's not even Kendrick's best album
Any east coast album moggs this tupac dick riding album
I don't really like cole, I find him very boring and skippable most times, I like kendrick, but morale was fricking garbage, he was right there. TPAB being doodoo is nonsense though.
i miss her so much 🙁
me too dawg
Not real music
cole doesn't get the right to all anyone's album trash when he just started his new one with a rick and morty bar.
I’m ONLY into abstract hip hop everything else is garbage
I like Kendrick but this idea that TPAB is the best album ever is just insane. Its arguably not even his best album, let alone best hip hop album, let alone best album
I'm white and I think Kendrick Lamar is gayer than My Chemical Romance.
I saw someone call this psychedelic hip-hop once
that guy has probably never been within 100 meters of any kind of drug beyond yate mate before
The repugnant album cover tells you all you need to know about its contents.
A mob of jeering, half-naked savages, clutching cash and waving alcohol, violently occupying the lawn of the White House, stomping on the personification of law and order in an aggressive act of defiance against civilization.
In a word, the cover captures the essence of Black folk.
And that's what the album is about too - being a Black person. Desecrating order and beauty. Inciting and glorifying violence. Obsessing over sexuality and reproductive organs. Gleefully tearing down all tenets of civilization, then blaming the white man for the black community's desolation and nihilism. Wallowing in victimization.
Such an album cover should provoke a visceral reaction of disgust in anyone that doesn't want to go back to the stone age.
Consider how utterly unacceptable it would be for a white musician to feature a gang of white men gleefully killing a black man as their album cover.
It would incite an uproar.
The reverse barely registers, so ubiquitous and accepted is black violence.
White fans of this are clueless. A white boy having this in his record collection is like a israelite putting a Nazi flag up in their room. It is an incitement to violence. It is stochastic terrorism.
Kendrick would slit your throat if he had the chance, and drink the blood like a tribal warlord.
To Pimp A Butterfly isn't the music of an oppressed artist-poet speaking out against the powers-that-be to liberate his community; it's the sound of a resentful, sulking, rage-filled Black person who fantasizes daily about spilling the blood of his white neighbors.
It's the sound of someone who smiles when he reads the headline that another white woman was raped and killed by his brothas.
It's the sound of someone who would spit in the drink of the white customers he was serving.
It's the sound of someone who shouldn't be allowed access to firearms.
It's the sound of someone who needs therapy.
the art hurt your feelings that bad 🙁 you are a pussy
classic post
>one of the greatest albums in the history of mankind
c'mon now
TPAB is absolute garbage. It was around the same time that Kenduck also started appearing in Taylor Swift songs. He's such a race baiting homosexual and should feel ashamed for biting the hand that feeds him. J Cole isn't any better though, he's a boring industry plant.
shame on Taylor for allowing this cretin to ruin one of her great songs
this album is extremely boring; I couldn't finish it when I tried listening and I enjoy a fair amount of rap
Kendrick should feel ashamed dissing the man who saved him from getting ass raped by Diddy. Probably realised his career is falling apart after his last album sunk like a stone and is trying to start fights with whoever he can to remain in the spotlight. Anyway, J Cole sucks too but he made fun of trannies on that surprise mixtape thing he just put out so he’s based in my books
not music
Rap would have to BE music in order for me to say that it's the one that I hate the MOST!!
White boy here. Let me tell you I'm not really "down" with hip hop or rap, but TPAB was straight fire. It had a message and was really like well structured with no skits and cool jazz beats. It was like really chill but also really schooled my white ass. Truly the greatest of all time.
But do you fricks with it?
this is black lives matter : the album
it's so fricking fake and forced, purely a product of its time and kendrick has been squeezing that shit for most of his career
shit's garbage as frick and no i'm not a cole shill that diss was wack as frick
I thought this was the fact and it was an inside joke saying "TPAB was a classic 12/10 perfect".
Kendrick hasn’t dropped good music since 2017
Kendrick and Cole are both good, not great, and will be washed away and forgotten. Eminem, Kanye and Lil Wayne were the last good "Big Three" because their music occasionally had messages to them but, first and foremost, focused on craftsmanship and being good music. Cole/Drake/Kendrick are a sad excuse for "Big" anything. Rap either needs new superstars, or a new genre is about to rise to the top.
>shitty artist disses great artist
>you are....a heckin trannerino!
Uninspired
funniest part is that bro literally copied that shit
what else is new
Yeah it's mid
Metal is worse than hip hop
Troon detected
>one of the greatest albums in the history of mankind
?????? Lol, lmao even
J Cole is one of the most boring rappers of all time
It's the Hamilton musical for redditors
