A yeah, that's a good book. It is what inspired me to get my book published. I definitely recommend it. I think it is translated as "the Disconnected". Give it a read.

Atay's novel is indeed not easy to translate, then again, knowing the intelligentsia in Turkish literary circles, this sounds more like politics and drama.

I've only read a couple of 'reviews' or essays or whatever they are on his sites on a few books I've read, and he didn't pretend to have read them, but had a small summary of what the book is about, why it's considered untranslatable and some key points from his conversation with the translator working on a translation thereof (which to this day is incomplete).

The normal thing would be to say Lo he leído or even Yo lo he leído (to emphasize the subject), both meaning I have read it. Subtle yet very telling difference. This means his knowledge of Spanish is rudimentary or very basic.
