They were 94% European so the paternal non-European ancestry got diluted like in Finns.

Actually, modern Finns have more Siberian ancestry than their Finnic ancestor. Likely source for it is Sami. Here's coordinates of what N1c carriers to Finland looked like:

It's Finnic ancestor for the Balts, not for the Finns

If he is ancestor of the Balts, he is mine too (N1c L550). Finnic ancestry came from the Baltic to Finland, while Sami ancestry most likely came from the east.

Most Finns have the same(or relatively closely related to be specific) subclade as NEO538 which was enormously Siberian
of the 62% or so men with N1c in Finland only 1/4 belong to what you might call Estonic or Baltic subclades and vast majority of them aren't L550

Maybe but it originated in Estonia. It just didn't become common there or Finland.

The oldest samples that have it are from Estonia. Then it shows up in Lithuania and Latvia centuries later. It's also pretty common in eastern Sweden and actually it's less bottlenecked there than in Baltics.

you know that genetics alone doesn't tell you anything about what a people's culture is like, roght? Genetics always works with other branches of historical research

Paleogenetics studies how migrations and ethnogenesis of ancient peoples occurred. Who the ancient people really were. Only Black folks who believe they're ancient Egyptians or pajeets who think they're Aryans don't like it.

            Anonymous

I never said I don't like it; but it's part of a larger research, because as I said, it doesn't give any info on the culture and we know that genetics doesn't tranlsate in a particular language or belief

            Anonymous

Genetics stands above culture and language because peoples and ethnicities are defined by their origins, i.e. their genetics. Genetics determines physical development, psyche and intelligence, and that determines cultural characteristics. Also, as far as I know, globular amphora culture was previously thought to be Indo-European until their dna was tested

Genetics is not history and history is not a science.

at least we can estimate one historical fact from Y-DNA haplogroup, which is the paternal lineage of a human group. And it is well-known that the culture had been inherited from father to son in many societies, especially in the agricultural societies. We have no reason to ignore it.

            >culture had been inherited from father to son in many societies, especially in the agricultural societies
Not exactly a hard rule. And all it takes is a single son in the chain of hundreds of generations to break that "rule" for you to reach completely false conclusions on the culture of all of his descendants. You can use archeogenetics to support already existing historical evidence, but by itself it's not history.

Paleogenetics and archaeology are part of history. No one cares that you're poor and can't afford to buy a dna test
