ARM Chromebooks exist already. I don't understand who you think is going to write ARM-native apps for OS.

The only reason Windows still exists is so that office boomers can run their industry-specific application that hasn't been updated since 1999 and gaymers. None of those are going to be recompiled for ARM.

            >Resizing taskbar when it's vertical is janky as frick (it jumps around from where you set it and you end up having to resize it twice)

I'm glad they at least attempted to replace that abomination of a taskbar in 11, but autohiding it STILL SUCKS BALLS.

Microsoft just does not care about the small details. At all. If it's not something Joe Office Worker would notice/care about it gets no attention. Meanwhile, moving, hiding, resizing the dock on macOS all looks and feels very elegant.

            >in OPs image there's clearly enough room for a camera above notch
Not for the 1080p webcam they wanted.

Like, don't get me wrong, I'm not a a fan of it and would've preferred weaker webcam and even more pixels or ideally faceID, but for the thing they wanted to do, it's the least bad choice.

In OP image there is clearly enough space above the notch to pluck in few cameras (I assume notch is used because "hurr durr we can't fit face id technology otherwise").
My guess is they chose the notch to make it recognizable. Notch is Apple brand. Which is fricking stupid.

Yeah. I have a 14" M3 Max, I didn't top out the unified memory so I think I might swap this one out for one of the models that has more. That would be either 96 or 128. I've never regretted having more RAM. Plus running Llama 3 70B on device would be cool, even if it wouldn't be as fast as my desktop or through a remote service.
Performance is good, I hear the fans spin up if I put it under heavy load for a while but usually it is silent. I don't play games on it, so I don't know or care about that aspect. Battery life is great. Activity Monitor seems to predict between 12 and 19 hours when I'm just doing basic stuff. I have never needed to push it that far. Parallels seems to chug battery, but I don't need to use it often so I've come to terms with. that. Terribly expensive, but I only get a new portable computer once every ten years or so, no reason to cheap out.
      The notch doesn't bother me.

I've mainly used Windows my entire life but I've always enjoyed macOS. It's pretty easy to adjust, the only thing you'll really need is an app to add window snapping. I love my macbook, I don't think I'll ever buy a windows laptop again for personal use.
