I've loved every MBP I've owned. But I'm still on two Intel MBPs because I need to run x86 code and VMs, so I haven't moved to ARM. I'm hoping to hold out a few years. Maybe by then there will be decent x86 emulation for ARM, or an ARM MBP with an additional x86 core or something.
Unless I missed an announcement, Rosetta is not exposed to 3rd party VM software. I can't boot an x86 Linux VM in parallels, for example. I wish it was because its performance seems decent enough.

I've never regretted having more RAM. Plus running Llama 3 70B on device would be cool, even if it wouldn't be as fast as my desktop or through a remote service.
Performance is good, I hear the fans spin up if I put it under heavy load for a while but usually it is silent. I don't play games on it, so I don't know or care about that aspect. Battery life is great. Activity Monitor seems to predict between 12 and 19 hours when I'm just doing basic stuff. I have never needed to push it that far. Parallels seems to chug battery, but I don't need to use it often so I've come to terms with. that. Terribly expensive, but I only get a new portable computer once every ten years or so, no reason to cheap out.
