What percent below asking price can you offer on a house in the USA?
Without insulting them.

idk but in canada you'll offend them if you offer the asking price
Wtf
10% below is reasonable.
you can offer whatever you want. As a homeseller, I wouldn't be offended at all and would be happy someone expressed interest in my house.
as a homebuyer, I don't think I'd offer any less than 20-25% of asking price unless it's been on the market forever
got my house for 80% of ask because 3 offers fell through over the span of 2 months
80%? You’re trolling right?
Sellers will often take a deal like that if there's a chain they're looking to complete or they're worried about their onward purchase coming off the market.
Nobody is selling for -80% in this market. This is just some made up bullshit NEETs use to cope with owning nothing.
reading comprehension moron?
80% OF ASK, you moronic zoomer
aka 20% below asking
The school system failed your generation even by public school standards
Would you say 20% off is common if it’s simply not selling or will sellers just hold and hope it does
Bc I don’t want them to ignore and not counteroffer, people put their emotions above logic these days
Sounds like a LARP or it was some desperate meth heads selling the house that needed their fix.
>see a decent unit go up for sale in a nice and developing area
>2 days on market, contact agent to set up a showing the next day, offer at asking price and immediately accepted, seller is even amenable to a number of minor demands to get the deal done
>this frictionlessness makes me think I could have negotiated harder, but now half a year since, there have been no comparable units in the area up for sale within even 20% of what I paid
What would you think, IQfy?
>What would you think, IQfy?
Someone would have bought it from under you the more you messed around.
Be happy you have the property and move forward.
>offers you 50%
>You don't have to accept the offer, but it's there
should I reinstall windows?
This is a real estate agent psyop.
You absolutely should make an offer so low it offends them. Boomers need to be put in their place.
You can offer whatever you feel good about. Be wise with your money.
Know this though, the other 10 bidders who are offering +10% above asking price are going to stomp all over your prostate.
Except in most areas except for major metropolitan cities housing is stagnant.
Ive been watching a zip code in FL and five houses have sold in the last two months. All 10-15% below asking. People are married to their zestimates but who are they going to sell their $800k 3/2 1500sqft second home to in an area thats not a major metro? Newlyweds? Lol other boomer retirees? Lmao even.
There’s way fewer buyers than they’re letting on. Thats not even taking consideration the ridiculous interest rates if you opt for a mortgage.
I offered many -20% and said keep me in mind if it doesn’t sell
? You don’t make payments to the owner you make payments to the mortgage company who loans you $ to pay the owner for the whole thing. Or you pay cash from your bank. Either way the owner expects the whole thing paid at once whether you got it from a mortgage loan or your bank
Or cash from your duffle bag if you’re a Black person
Every 30 days on the market, 5% below asking becomes reasonable I'd reckon. A good agent can get a good inspector in to go through everything and likely you can get some concessions once you're actually under contract. If you just get some moron roastie agent that's just there to collect a fee then you won't get that, but a good buyers agent will get you concessions all over, especially on older places. This was in 2020-2021 too, which was definitely a sellers market.
Don’t you have to pay for inspections?
yeah, but its a small price to pay
>This was in 2020-2021 too, which was definitely a sellers market
I'm surprised you managed to get any inspections done back then at all considering how many Californians were scooping up properties around the country without even looking at them first, and then getting fricked when their new houses were falling apart just a year after being purchased
when I bought my house a couple years ago I had to offer 12% over the asking price, no contingencies, no inspection. offer whatever you want and who gives a frick if you offend someone they can counteroffer or tell you to piss off.
> werehouse
When I decide to sell my home, I'm going to feel extremely offended if I get an offer that isn't at least double my asking price.
Just letting you know.
This is the seller sentiment on the market nowadays. Just accept it and double up.
Can you offer 20-25% off if you pay for a large amount of the whole thing?
Or the whole thing*
if you're not offending, you're not really trading
What does it matter if you insult the sellers?
Make sure to tip 20% too, homosexual.
